George Estell Moody Sr.
George Estell Moody Sr., 96, known to his family and friends as “Uncle George,” of Asbury, passed away Thursday, Jan. 24, 2013, at his home.
Born Dec. 4, 1916, at Ronceverte, he was the son of the late John “Bud” Wallace Moody and Sally Roach Moody.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Margie Hanna Moody; son, George Moody Jr.; friend/ caregiver, Odessa Cooper; and son-in-law, Richard “Dickie” Dosier.
Survivors include his son, Kenneth Moody Sr. (Shirley); daughters, Emily Estep (Ivan “Buster”); and Helen Dosier; grandsons, Ivan “Rocky” Estep Jr., Tony Estep, Mike Estep, Clay Moody, and Kenneth “Kenny” Moody Jr.; granddaughters, Rita Pippin, April Thayer, Cherith Brooks, Sabra Castaneto, and Stephanie Poskin; 15 great-grandchildren, and seven great-great-grandchildren; his special caregivers — his “angels,” Shannon Gunder, Kathy Longanacre, Iva “Buster” Estep Sr., Cherith Brooks, and April Thayer; several nieces and nephews which includes special nephews, Jim Moody and Joe Hanna.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Monday, Jan. 28, 2013, at Morgan Funeral Home in Lewisburg, with Pastors Kermit Hunter and Jim Conyers officiating. Burial will follow in the Emmanuel Church Cemetery at Asbury.
Visitation will be 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 27, 2013, at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to Kanawha Hospice Care, Inc., 223 Maplewood Ave., Lewisburg, WV 24901.

OCEANA — Eleanor Puckett, 76, passed away Thursday, Jan. 24, 2013.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 29, at Evans Funeral Home Memorial Chapel, with the Rev. David White officiating. Entombment will follow at Palm Memorial Gardens, Matheny. The family will receive friends 6 to 9 p.m. Monday, Jan. 28.

Arlie Pugh went to be with our Lord on Thursday, January 24, 2013. May God rest his soul and keep him close in his arms.
Arlie Harvey Pugh was born October 4, 1930, at Backus, W.Va., to Sam H. and Ella E. Gill Pugh. His brothers and sisters are Berlie, Herman, Shirley, Maggie, Sadie, Jesse, Paul and Pauline, Arleine, Ralph, Dorothy, Verna, Denny, and Harmon.
Arlie’s children are William, Robert, Michael, Scott, and Rebecca. He also has six wonderful grandchildren: Leslie, Garrett, Ryan, Katherine, Lindsey and Emma, and one great-grandchild: Brody.
Arlie spent 20 years in the U.S. Navy retiring on June 12, 1967. After retiring from the Navy he worked several years as a sales representative for major greeting card companies. Arlie served on COMCRUISER destroyer Flotilla 4 teaching leadership skills and career information from 1960 to 1967. He also worked as part of the manned spacecraft recovery team at Cape Kennedy, Florida.
