Luther Miles Anderson

DELTONA, Fla. — Luther Miles Anderson, 88, died Jan. 13, 2013, at Haven Hospice Center in Orange Park, Fla.

Graveside services will 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 19, 2013 at the Anderson Cemetery on Teaberry Road near Lewisburg. There will be no visitation.

Pauline S. Baker

SWEET SPRINGS — Pauline S. Baker, 102, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 15, 2013, at the home of her daughter, Patricia Campbell.

She was born at Sweet Springs June 29, 1910, a daughter of the late Henry Thomas and Lettie Mahan Schumaker.

Mrs. Baker was a dedicated member of the Cokesbury United Methodist Church at Sweet Springs, serving in various positions for the church, a homemaker, a retired employee of the Monroe County Board of Education, having worked as a bus driver, a former employee of Celanese Corp. at Narrows, Va. and Eagles Nest restaurant.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Russell H. Baker; a daughter, Betty Anne Baker; an infant grandson, Larry Campbell; a great-grandson, Christopher Baker; four brothers and three sisters.

Those left to cherish her memory include two daughters, Doris Rowan and husband, John, of Toledo, Ohio, Patricia Campbell and husband, Franklin, of Gap Mills; two sons, Donald Baker and wife, Mary, Bobby Baker and wife, Janet, all of Covington, Va.; a brother, Lewis Schumaker and wife, Carol of Covington, Va.; eight grandchildren, Roger and Stephen Rowan of Toledo, Ohio, Michael and Dana Baker of Charlotte, N.C., Rodney Baker of Covington, Va., Jerry Campbell of Union, Keith and Mark Campbell both of Gap Mills; four great-grandchildren, Ashley and Leslie Rowan of Toledo, Ohio, Frankie and Dylan Campbell of Gap Mills..   

Funeral Services will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 19, 2013, at Groves Funeral Home Chapel in Union with Revs. Marva and Mark Smearman officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. View Cemetery at Sweet Springs.

Friends may call at the Groves Funeral Home in Union from 12:30 until service time on Saturday.
