Danny Lee Blankenship

Danny Lee Blankenship, 42, of Skin Fork, passed away Monday, March 24, 2014.

In keeping with Danny’s wishes he will be cremated. There will be no public services.

Betty June Mounts Browning

LITTLE CREEK — Betty June Mounts Browning, 75, of Little Creek, passed away  Wednesday, March 26, 2014.

Funeral services will be at noon Saturday, March 29, in the Chapel of Stafford Family Funeral Home, Lynco, with Pastor Jackie Grimmett officiating. Burial will follow in Palm Memorial Gardens, Matheny. Friends may gather with the family from 10 a.m. until time of service Saturday at the funeral home.

Greg Cook

Greg Douglas Cook of Lanark was born September 30, 1968, in Beckley. He passed away March 27, 2014.

He was preceded in death by his father Charlie Cook, maternal grandparents, his Hero Lawrence Wiseman and Alice Wiseman, paternal grandparents Charles and Mabel Cook.

He is survived by his loving mother, Diana Wiseman Cook of Lanark; a daughter, Briana Karl of Beckley; special uncles, Larry and Gene Wiseman of Piney View; great-uncle Babe Wiseman of Alta Vista, Va.; cousins, Kimberly Wiseman Snuffer and children, Jordan, Kylie, Michael and Kendra of Lanark, Michael and Elizabeth Wiseman of Piney View, Lavette Melton of Virginia; and special friend, Wendy Irle of Beckley. Greg will be sadly missed by numerous friends and family.

Greg was a Highwall Miner Technical Advisor. He recently worked in Indonesia and India. An avid hunter and fisherman, he appeared in the West Virginia show “Woods and Water.”

The family has requested that in lieu of flowers please donate to Trout Unlimited. Please contact Bobby Bower at westvirginiafishing@gmail.com. All donations will go for fingerling stockings.

A “Service of Remembrance” will be held Saturday, March 29th, at 3 p.m. at the Melton Mortuary Chapel. Pastor Roger Smith Jr. will be officiating.

The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. at the mortuary on Saturday.
