Lillian ‘Imogene’ Slone

Lillian “Imogene” Slone died at home Thursday, May 16, 2013, after a long illness with her family by her side.

Lillian was born June 11, 1924, in Kentucky, and was the daughter of the late Norman Judson Slone and Hazel Mae Gray Slone.

In addition to her parents, Lillian is preceded in death by her brothers, Daniel Boone Slone, Norman Judson Slone Jr. and William Joseph Slone.

Imogene worked at Westmorland Coal Company for 34 years; she retired from Tams Coal Company four years later. Imogene was of the Baptist faith. She enjoyed spending time with her family and listening to the word of God on TV.

Those left to cherish her memory include her beloved niece, Cathy Campbell and husband Randy Campbell Sr.; nephews, Randy Campbell Jr. and wife Tabatha, Steven Campbell and wife Kristen; great-great-nieces and nephews, Nicole Campbell, Madison Campbell, Kara Campbell, Matthew Campbell, Matthew Baker, Natalee Wollum, Randy Campbell, III, Lillian Campbell, Joclyn Halstead, Joseph Wray and DJ Karshner.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, May 19, 2013, at Blue Ridge Funeral Home, Beckley, with Pastor Lewis Arnold officiating. Burial will follow at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens.

Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.

Friends may gather with the family Sunday from 1 to 2 p.m. at the funeral home.

Shelia ‘Candi’ Smith

Shelia “Candi” Smith passed away in her sleep on May 11, 2013.

She is survived by her husband, William (Billy) Smith; two sons, Keith (Skeeter) Smith, Eric Smith; two daughters, Shelia (Nuni) Smith, Marguita Smith; three grandchildren, Kimberly, Tashaun, and Nini Smith; one great-grandchild, Jameer Smith.

She is preceded in death by her sons, Anthony (Tony) Smith, Aaron T. Smith; stepfather, Stanley (Toe) Hollinghead.

She leaves to be remembered by her husband, children, grandchildren, mother, Rosie Hollinghead; brothers, Keith (Diane), Stanley (Skip), Brian Hollinghead; sisters, Faye (Harold) Wicks, Debra Pannell, Rosemary (Kenny) Carter, Carolann Marshall, Flora (Charles) Christian, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Funeral arrangements are being conducted by Serenity Funeral Home.
