Wesley Earl Lilly
RUPERT — Wesley Earl Lilly, our beloved husband, father and grandfather, 85, of Rupert, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, March 20, 2014.
Born February 14, 1929, in Jettsville, he was the son of the late Sandy Wetzel Lilly and the late Bill and Iva Amick Lilly Collins.
Mr. Lilly was a U.S. Army veteran, serving during the Korean War, and a retired coal miner. He enjoyed hunting and caring for his pet dogs. Earl was a member of the Gospel Lighthouse Church, at Grassy Meadows, and he had a love for God’s Word.
Earl loved to sing gospel music, often accompanied by his wife. He had a warm, hearty laugh and an endearing sense of humor. He will be greatly missed by his family, extended church family and friends.
In addition to his mother, father and stepfather, he is preceded in death by 3 sisters June Boyd, Vida Harris and Ina Pettit and a brother Wetzel Lilly.
Survivors include his loving wife of 63 years, Wanda White Lilly; a daughter Ardena Osborne and husband Ron of Rupert; a son Steve Lilly and wife Carol of Rupert; a sister Drema Tincher of Jettsville; a brother Bart Lilly of Jettsville; 4 grandchildren Jason Osborne and wife Candice, Leah Yoakum and husband David, Jr., Lora Weikle and husband Justin and Joshua Bibbee; and 6 great-grandchildren Jayden Osborne, Eli Osborne, Jaxon Weikle, Lily Weikle, Myka Lilly and Joshua Earl Bibbee.
A service to celebrate his life will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, March 23, in the Gospel Lighthouse, Grassy Meadows, officiated by Pastor Butch Legrand and Pastor Felix Baker.
Friends may call one hour before the service from 1 to 2 p.m. at the church.
