Franklin David  Jenkins

Franklin David Jenkins, 79, passed away Thursday, March 20, 2014.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Monday, March 24, in Evans Funeral Home Chapel; the Rev. Hannibal Blankenship Jr. and the Rev. Erwin Gregory will officiate. Entombment will follow in Palm Memorial Gardens Mausoleum, Matheny. Military honors will be conducted. The family will receive friends from noon until time of service Monday at the funeral home.

Craig Brandon Kirkham

TALCOTT — Craig Brandon Kirkham, 34, of Talcott passed away at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 19, 2014, at Princeton Community Hospital following a short illness.

Born September 17, 1979, at Princeton, he was the son of Norman Lowell and Tona Romeo Kirkham of Talcott.

Craig was a 1997 graduate of Summers County High School in Hinton and a 2002 graduate of Concord University. He was a former sales associate for AT&T and was currently a personal banker for City National Bank in Lewisburg. He enjoyed working at the bank and loved the entire staff there. He was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church in Hinton, Tau Kappa Epsilon Fraternity, and was a lifelong resident of Summers County. Craig had the distinction of being the 8th great-grandson of both Colonel James Graham and Samuel Gwinn, who were among the earliest pioneer settlers in the Greenbrier River Valley at Lowell, West Virginia. Craig’s hobbies included fly fishing and grouse hunting. Craig endeared himself to many people in his life and will be missed by all who came to know and love him.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Rachel Almond Kirkham, in 2012. Also preceded by his maternal grandfather, Tony J. Romeo, and his paternal grandfather, Frank Norman Kirkham.

Besides his parents, survivors include a sister, Laura Kirkham Caldwell of Talcott. Niece, Brooklyn Caldwell, and nephew, Kobe Caldwell, both of Talcott. Maternal grandmother, Mitzi Romeo of Bluefield, WV. Paternal grandmother, Wanda Bennett of Hinton. Uncles, Michael J. Romeo of Bluefield, WV, Anthony J. Romeo of Union, KY, John D. Romeo of Alliance, OH, and Frank Kirkham and wife Terri of Hinton. Aunts, Elizabeth Blasingame of Kernersville, NC, and Debbie Wykle and husband Alfred of Hinton. Close friend and companion, Amanda Baker of Talcott. Two special friends, Alexis and Brandon Baker, as well as numerous cousins also survive.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, March 24, 2014, at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Hinton with Father Rey Landicho and Father Arthur Bufogle as concelebrants. Rite of Committal will follow in Keller Church Cemetery at Lowell, West Virginia. The family will receive friends from 5 until 8 p.m. Sunday evening at Pivont Funeral Home in Hinton, where a Christian Wake Service will be held at 7:30 p.m. on Sunday.

Pallbearers will be: Connor Boyd, Lake Wykle, John Cooper, Brian Kirkham, Brad Kirkham, Austin Lilly and Lee Pivont.
