Joyce N. Critchley Slaughter
LESLIE — Joyce N. Critchley Slaughter, 71, of Leslie, passed away Sunday morning, March 16, 2014, at her home, following a long illness.
Born July 25, 1942, at Danese, she was the daughter of the late Roy E. and Mary Ann Atkins.
Joyce had worked in housekeeping for Pride Clean of New Castle, Del.
Other than her parents she was preceded in death by one sister, Margaret Critchley Martin, and one brother, Frank Raggio Critchley.
Those left to cherish her memory are one daughter, Joyce M. Chapman of Covington, Va.; one son, Edward Slaughter III of Middletown, Del.; three sisters, Audrey Critchley Hanshew (Asa) of Danese, W.Va., Brenda Critchley Pritchett (Bill) of Townsend, Del., and Sandra Critchley Jaffe of New Castle, Del.; one brother, Roy Edward Critchley (Thelma) of Leslie; 10 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
As per her wishes, her body will be cremated. Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 22, 2014, at the New Covenant Trinity Church of Rainelle, with Rev. Roy Asa Hanshew officiating, assisted by Pastor Ronald McClung.

Jaxon Tate Smith and Jayden Riley Smith
Jaxon Tate and Jayden Riley Smith, twin children of Jennifer Joelene Smith of Beaver, were stillborn Tuesday, March 18, 2014.
There will be no service or visitation. Interment was in the Calfee Cemetery at Mount Tabor.

LINDSIDE — Willard Timothy Smithson, 56, of Lindside, passed away Tuesday, March 18, 2014.
Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Saturday, March 22, at the Broyles-Shrewsbury Funeral Home Chapel, Peterstown, with the Rev. Earl Hanks, Brother Dewey Broyles, Brother Rodger Boothe and Pastor Jim Pearson officiating. Burial will follow in the Smithson Family Cemetery. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, March 21, at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations of sympathy be made to the Lindside Volunteer Fire Department, PO Box 156, Lindside, WV 24951.
