LILLYDALE — Michael Dale Wells, 53, of Lillydale, WV, went to be with Jesus on Tuesday, December 24, 2013, at Raleigh General Hospital, Beckley, WV. He was born October 6, 1960, in Man, WV, a son of Norma Jean Keeney Wells of Lynco and the late Rev. Charles Winford Wells. Michael was a disabled coal miner and truck driver. His hobbies included playing the guitar, riding his Harley and fishing. He loved spending time with his family and friends and especially with his granddaughter Madison. He enjoyed spending time with his friends at McDonald’s in Oceana. He will be missed by all who loved him. In addition to his father he is preceded in death by a brother Kim Dewayne Wells; his poppaw who raised him Bill Keeney, Sr.; a special uncle Bill “Shaw” Keeney, Jr.; a special aunt Betty Ann Toler; a nephew Kelly Wells.
Those left to love and cherish his memory include his loving wife of 30 years Barbara Wells of Lillydale; a daughter Trista LeAnn (Tim) Walters of Sevierville, TN; a son Michael Chase Wells at home; a granddaughter Madison Michelle Wells of Sevierville, TN; his mother Norma Jean Wells and companion Ed Dunn of Clear Fork; his mommaw who raised him Verna Keeney of Neola; a brother Terry (Ruth) Wells of Fanrock; three sisters Bonita (Frank) Bradford of Clear Fork; Jackie (Barry) Chambers of Elk Lick; and Linda Orzechowski of Pittsburgh, PA; three special aunts Eva Jane (Wilburn) Bailey of Davin, Rita (Gene) Harvey of Neola, Judy (Terry) St. Clair of Lynco; a special uncle Jim Toler of Clear Fork; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and close friends, too many to name.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, December 30, 2013, in the Chapel of Stafford Family Funeral Home, Lynco, WV, with Bishop Randy Bowles officiating. Friends may gather with the family Monday, December 30, 2013, from 11 a.m. until service time. He will be laid to rest in Highland Memory Gardens, Pecks Mill, WV.
In lieu of flowers donations should be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital or the American Heart Association.
