Betty Jo Cook
Betty Jo Cook, 84, of Crab Orchard, went home to be with the Lord on December 17th, 2013, after a short illness.
She was preceded in death by her father, Robert Reed, her mother, Famie Reed Cannaday, her husband, Eugene H. Cook Sr., and her daughter, Kathy Jo.
Those left behind to cherish her memories are her sister and brother-in-law, Peggy and Darrell Payne, and sister-in-law Jane Cook; her children, Kay and Gil DeLaRosa, Eugene Jr. (Poncho) and Debbie Cook, Bonnie and Richard Buchanan, Donna and Richard Bramlett, and Robert and Lou Ann Cook; 11 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews, her loving neighbors, Brenda and Allen Moye and Dr. Gary Poling, all of whom she thought of as a part of her family.
She was a charter member of Bible Baptist Church, loved and faithfully served in the John-Romans ministry.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Bible Baptist Church John-Romans ministry, P.O. Box 415, MacArthur, WV 25873, in her memory.
Visitation will be at Bible Baptist Church in MacArthur, on Saturday, December 21st, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. with the funeral service at 1 p.m.

Mary Paxton Dancy
COLUMBIA — Mary Paxton Dancy, 72, of Columbia, a native of Turkey Knob, died Sunday, Dec. 15, 2013.
Born Sept. 21, 1941, at Turkey Knob, she was the daughter of the late Cecil P. Paxton and Nellie Flossie Campbell.
She was the past president of both The Sumter Azelea Garden Club and The Sumter Square Dance Club. She enjoyed scrap booking and traveling.
She is survived by her husband, Joseph “Joe” Dancy Jr.; daughter, Judy (Jeff) DeVore; grandchildren, Brandon (Kelly) DeVore and Zach (Paige) DeVore; great-grandchildren, Michael and Braelyn DeVore.
Funeral service will be 12 noon on Friday, December 20, 2013, at Spring Valley Baptist Church, 91 Polo Road, with Dr. Robert Windburn officiating. The visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, December 19, 2013, at Kornegay & Moseley Funeral Home, 4645 Hard Scrabble Road. Burial will follow the service at Fort Jackson National Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Spring Valley Baptist Church or The American Heart Association.
