Drema Adkins Bragg

Drema Adkins Bragg, 61, of Cool Ridge, passed away at her home Sunday, Dec. 9, 2012.

Born Sept. 5, 1951, at Beckley, she was the daughter of the late Lonnie and Nina Ewing Adkins.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Lisa Rose; brothers, Curtis and Virgil Adkins; a sister, Nila Bledsoe.

Survivors include a grandson, Dusty Raines of Cool Ridge; brothers, Jack of Cranberry, Ruben of Beckley and Floyd Adkins of Caldwell; sisters, Mary Obugene of Cranberry, Irene Cook of Beckley, Jewell Rawls of Beckley, Elizabeth Navarro of Toledo, Ohio.

At her request, she was cremated and there will be no visitation.

Memorial services will be at a later date.

Arrangements by Rose and Quesenberry Shady Spring Chapel, Shady Spring.



Jackie Lynn Carnifax

RAMSEY — Jackie Lynn Carnifax was born on October 27, 1951, at Ramsey, to loving parents, the late Herbert “Hub” and Sarah Veda Crist Carnifax. She passed away Thursday, December 13, 2012.

She was a former utility clerk for the state of WV and then became a phlebotomist for Plateau Medical Center before becoming disabled. Jackie attended Lighthouse Worship Center.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Bill and Ray Carnifax, and three sisters, Wanda Carnifax, Betty Fields, and Karen Carnifax.

Survived by daughter, Sue Ann Nuckols, and companion, Frank McClung; sisters, Ann Clay of Killbuck, Ohio, and Jean Kincaid of Ramsey; brothers, Bob (Susie) Carnifax of Barboursville, Ohio, and Dale (Shirley) Carnifax of Oak Hill; Nannie to two special grandsons, Gary Keith Nuckols and Christopher Seth White; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

In keeping with her wishes she will be cremated.

Memorial services will be held on Saturday, December 22, 2012, at 1 p.m., at the Lighthouse Worship Center, Smales Branch Road, with Rev. Danny Legg and Rev. Dennis Kincaid officiating. Immediately following memorial services, please join our family in making Jackie’s wishes come true by releasing balloons at burial site on Carnifax Family Farm, Victor, W.Va.

In an attempt to fulfill her last wishes, we request no flowers, bring or send your favorite balloons at grave site.
