Mildred Virginia Pritt Alexander
SMITHERS — Mildred Virginia Pritt Alexander, age 85, of Smithers died November 28, 2012. She was born March 25, 1927, at Cannelton and was the daughter of the late Lewis Edward and Myrtle Ester Estep Pritt. She was also preceded in death by her husband Charles Albert “Hogan” Alexander and son Charles Edward Alexander.
She was a member of Oakland Church of God in Smithers.
Surviving: daughters Beverly Dickerson and husband Kenton of Hico, Pamela Brown and husband Joseph of Smithers: son Gerald “Gary” Alexander and his wife Leigh Ann of Montgomery: brothers George Pritt of Cannelton, Lewis E. Pritt and wife Ann of Illinois; grandchildren Charles Michael Dickenson, Stacey Ann Cooper, Candice Dawn Dickerson, Bradley Wayne Alexander and Lana Nicole Hill; stepgranddaughter Jamie Gwinn. 14 great-grandchildren.
The family would like to send a special thank you to the 2nd floor Staff of the Extended Care Unit at Montgomery General Hospital for the excellent care, love and compassion shown to our mother and family.

Blanche Ann Harrah
December 1, 2012, Angels escorted Blanche to her celebration in heaven. Continuing our journey, friends and family cherish memories of love and laughter Blanche brought to our lives.
Blanche was born in Marfrance, WV, lived and raised her family in Fayetteville, WV, but has resided in Bradley, WV, since October 5, 2005.
Prior to her illness Blanche was a homemaker who enjoyed needlepoint and sewing. She was also a social butterfly, visiting family, friends, and neighbors.
Blanche was preceded in death by her mother, Clester Blankenship; father, Clayton Blankenship; and brother, Mitchell Blankenship.
Left to cherish her memories include her loving husband, Robert Lee “Bob” Harrah; children and spouses, Gwen Gilliam and husband Rusty of Fredericksburg, VA; Barbara Daugherty and husband Curtis of Bradley, WV, Robert Lee Harrah Jr. (Bobby) and wife Susan of Lookout, WV; and Melvin Harrah and wife Amy of Beckwith; seven grandchildren: Molly, Josh, Braxton, Shane, Amy, Robert Jr., and Angel; 9 great-grandchildren; three brothers, Buddy of Mt. Hope, WV, Phillip of Oak Hill, WV, Carl of Florida; and three sisters, Kitty of Mt. Hope, WV, Mildred of Oak Hill, WV, Marsha Ruth of Fayetteville, WV.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, December 4, 2012 at Dodd-Payne-Hess Funeral Home, Fayetteville, with Rev. Delmas Wolfe officiating. Larry Holstein Sr.
Larry Holstein Sr., 66, of Colcord, WV, went home to be with the Lord Tuesday, November 27, 2012, at the Appalachian Regional Hospital, Beckley, WV, after a long illness.
Larry was of the Presbyterian faith and a member of the UMWA. He enjoyed to be outdoors, loved to hunt and fish, most of all he loved spending time with his family. His three sons and his grandchildren is what made him happy. They were all his pride and joy.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Benny and Alma Holstein; his loving wife of 40 years, Elizabeth Ann Holstein, a son and a daughter, Terry and Tammy Holstein, a sister, Patricia White, and a brother, Harold Holstein.
Those left to cherish his memory include his sister, Shelby Stover of Dorothy, WV, three sons, Larry Holstein Jr. and wife, Chrissy, of Daniels, WV, Greg Holstein and wife, Heather, of Colcord, WV, Jerrard and wife, Jessica, of Colcord, WV, five grandchildren, Jonathan Cantley, Chase Cantley, Cody Stevens, Kate Hatfield, Dylan Jones; many nieces, nephews, and very close friends.
Graveside services will be held Monday afternoon, December 3, 2012, at two o’clock in the Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, Prosperity, WV, with the Rev. Cecil McClellan and the Rev. Jeff Shea. Interment will be in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, Prosperity, WV.

Frank Junior Maynor
FAYETTEVILLE — Frank Junior Maynor, 87, of Fayetteville, passed away peacefully at his home on Friday, November 30, 2012.
Born on May 2, 1925, in Long Branch, WV, to the late Henry Frank Maynor and Gertrude Sheppard Maynor.
Mr. Maynor was a devoted family man and loved the Lord. He was a member of Brooklyn Community Church. He also served our country in the United States Army during World War II.
In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Bailey Maynor; son, Eric Maynor; brothers, Buster, Adair, Sherman, and Melvin Maynor; and a sister, Georgie Williams.
Those left behind to cherish his memory include his sons, Eddie Frank Maynor of Brooklyn, Evan Maynor (Tina) of Oak Hill, and Scotty Maynor (Brenda) of Oak Hill; daughters, Carolyn Landers (Stephen) of Gatewood, Peggy Carter of Oak Hill, and Ladonna Cumbow (James) of Oak Hill; sister, Francis Williams; 19 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
Services of Celebration will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday, December 3, 2012, at Ewing Creek Church at Clear Creek with Pastor Gary Williams officiating. Interment will follow at Ewing Creek Cemetery at Toney Fork.
Pallbearers will be family and friends.

Earl Fredrick Shrewsbury
Earl Fredrick Shrewsbury, 73, of Coal City, passed away on Thursday, November 29, 2012, at the Bowers Hospice House from complications of diabetes.
He was born on October 25, 1939, in Winding Gulf, WV, to the late Watson Callaway Shrewsbury and Mary Maxie Warner Shrewsbury.
He was a millwright by profession and had previously worked as a plumber and in the coal mines. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending time with his family and friends. His art of story telling was a joy, bringing much laughter to all, and truly will be missed.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife of 33 years until her passing, Leona Mills Shrewsbury; daughter, Loretta Faye McKinney; brothers, James, Walter, and Charlie Shrewsbury; sisters, Easter Goff, Lillian Trail, Sadie Turner, and Anise Roan.
Those left behind to cherish his memory include a son, Steven Earl Shrewsbury (Robin) of Walterboro, SC; daughter, Sharon Kay Shrewsbury of Coal City; sisters, Virginia Thomas (Doug) of Palmetto, FL, Ellen Hamilton (Earl) of Bradenton, FL; sisters-in-law, Vivian Shrewsbury and Threasey Smith both of Coal City; a close companion, Evelyn Hutchens of Daniels; 10 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild; also a host of nieces, nephews, and close friends.
In keeping with Earl’s wishes, he was cremated and services will be conducted at a later date.
