Dr. Rouzbeh K. Parsi

Dr. Rouzbeh K. Parsi, 69, of Beckley passed away November 21, 2012, in Raleigh General Hospital following a courageous battle with cancer.

Born April 6, 1943, in Iran, he was the son of the late Mohammed Parsi and Khadija Parsi of Iran.

Dr. Parsi was a general and vascular surgeon that was educated at the University of Miami and the University of North Carolina, where he was chief resident. In 1989, he came to the Beckley area, and founded Med-Surg Group Inc., a multi-specialty physician group. For over 43 years in the medical profession Dr. Parsi saved and touched countless lives of the patients, co-workers, friends, and family that knew him. Dr. Parsi was always teaching, showing his love of his profession to everyone that would listen; even in the midst of his battle with cancer he was always concerned with the care of those around him. Dr. Parsi was a very loving and kind man that put the needs of his patients above his own.

In addition to his mother he is survived by loving wife of 32 years Shahin Parsi of Beckley, his son Vandad Parsi of Beckley, his 2 brothers and 2 sisters, and all of the staff of the Med-Surg Group which he called all of them his family.

A service celebrating the life of Dr. Parsi will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, November 25, 2012, in the chapel of Blue Ridge Funeral Home. Family and Friends will serve as pallbearers.

Following the service he will be laid to rest in Sunset Memorial Gardens, Beckley.

Friends may gather with the family from 1 p.m. until service time Sunday at the funeral home.
