LEWISBURG — Charles “Charlie” Clayton Bostic, 84, passed away Monday, July 29, 2013.
Graveside service and burial will be 1 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 1, 2013, at the Wallace Memorial Cemetery, Clintonville, with Pastor Roger Adams officiating.
There will be no visitation.

Mark A. Crawford
HINTON — Mark A. Crawford, 63, of Hinton, passed away Saturday, July 27, 2013 following a long illness.
Mr. Crawford was born March 5, 1950 in Clifton Forge, Va., fourth son of the late Francis and Lillie Mae Oliver Crawford of Hinton.
After finishing high school in 1968, Mr. Crawford served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War, was severely wounded in combat, and was later active as a Disabled American Veteran. Mark was a member of the Camon Baptist Church and Second Baptist Church in Hinton and began each day studying his Bible. He was an avid chess player, passing his knowledge on to multiple youth in the community. He loved to stargaze and often had his telescope positioned alongside State Street. Above all, Mark loved children and even though he was not a father himself, he chose to “father” many less fortunate youngsters in the community whose physical needs were not being met.
He was preceded in death by brother Roger Crawford and sisters Rachel Crawford, Angelia Crawford, and Nora Sembly.
Survivors include brothers Retired Lt. Col. Francis E. Crawford of Springfield, Va., Retired Lt. Col. Rosco D. Crawford and wife Janice of Annadale, Va., and Robin S. Crawford and wife Patricia of Hinton, as well as many much-beloved nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 3, 2013 at 2 p.m. at the Pivont Funeral Home Chapel in Hinton. Reverend Matthew Saunders will officiate. Burial will follow at the Esquire Cemetery in Hinton.
Friends may call from 1 to 2 p.m. Saturday, at the funeral home.

Patricia ‘Patti’ Foley
Patricia “Patti” Foley, 50, of Cool Ridge, went home to be with the Lord Sunday, July 28, 2013.
She was born on May 29, 1963 in Rhode Island. She is preceded in death by her father, Jerry Miser and sister, Diana Stroupe.
She leaves many behind to cherish her memory including her husband, David Foley of Cool Ridge, mother Jean Moneypenny and husband Lane; sister Norma Blevins and husband Gregg. Also, her daughters Tabatha Malott and husband Brian of Cool Ridge, Kassie Sturgill of Beaver, and her son John “L.J.” Cox and wife Kim of Flat Top. Also daughter Angie Petty and husband Bob. She cherished her grandchildren, and she will be honored through them. Her grandchildren include Annabelle Sturgill, Matthew Malott, Logan Malott, Marcus Sturgill, KJ Cox, Peyton Malott, and Elizabeth Petty. Also remembering her will be her Aunt Wanda Williams and husband Anthony. Her legacy will also be remembered by several nieces and nephews and many loving friends.
Patti obtained a Master’s degree in nursing and truly loved helping people. She spent a large part of her career aiding veterans and was a large supporter of the armed forces. She enjoyed reading, fishing, and spending time with her grandchildren to whom she was known as “Neena”. She was adored by them and will be missed greatly. She will be remembered by the special bond she had with each of them. She loved animals and leaves behind her beloved dog, Cindyanne.
Services to celebrate her life will be Friday, August 2, 2013 at 1 p.m. in the Rose and Quesenberry Shady Spring Chapel. Reverends Charles Lilly and Philip Farrington will be officiating. Interment will follow at the Sunset Memorial Park, Beckley.
Family will be serving as pallbearers.
Visitation will be Thursday evening from 6 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home in Shady Spring.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations made in honor of Patti. These can be made to the Patricia Foley Memorial Fund at City National Bank.

Billie Woodrow ‘Shaw’ Keeney Jr.
CYCLONE — Billie Woodrow “Shaw” Keeney Jr., 68, of Cyclone, went on his heavenly flight in the morning hours of Monday, July 29, 2013.
He was born August 3, 1944 in Cyclone, the son of Verna Stevens Keeney and the late Billie W. Keeney Sr.
Bill was a US Army Veteran and served in the Vietnam War. He was always a happy man and enjoyed being around people.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a grandson Austin Blankenship, two son-in-laws Darren Vankomen and Bill Compton, a nephew Kim Wells and lifelong friend Gary “Train” Brown.
He is survived by his mother Verna Keeney; three sons BJ (Sandra) Keeney, Brandon (Christi) Keeney and Mitchell (Lovetta) Toler; five daughters Kim (Terry) Benscoter, Tamberlie LaDawn (Roger) Peel, Stephanie Vankomen, Dusty Compton, Tanya (Mark) Jenkins; the mother of his children Peggy Keeney-White; Brandon’s mother Coretta Osborne; 18 grandkids Amber, Tiffany, Courtney and Trey Keeney, Corey Blankenship, Kayla Daniels, Brody and Tanner Jenkins, Chelsea White, Dakota Johnson, Brittney McPherson, Drayke, Trayce and Raeleigh Keeney, Destiny, Blake and Skyler Toler; three great grandchildren Chey Douglas, Darren Cook and one due in September 2013; five sisters Norma Jean Wells and companion Ed Dunn, Eva (Wilburn) Bailey, Rita (Gene) Harvey, Betty (Jimmy) Toler, Judy Lynn (Terry) St. Clair; a brother Mike (Barbara) Wells and a host of other loving family and friends. Bill was loved by all who knew him and will be greatly missed by many other family members and friends.
Funeral service will be held at 7 p.m. on Thursday August 1, 2013 at the New Life Church, Jesse, W.Va., with Bro. Benny Osborne officiating. Friends may gather with the family from 5 p.m. until service time at the church on Thursday. Following the services he will be cremated.

William Edward ‘Bill’ Menefee Jr.
William Edward “Bill” Menefee Jr., 78, formerly of Oak Hill, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, July 30, 2013 at Hopewell, Va.
Born December 9, 1934 at Crown Hill, W.Va., Bill was the son of the late William Edward Menefee Sr. and Hazel Haymaker Menefee.
His is preceded in death by his son, James Edward “Jim” Menefee of Covington, Va. and grandson, William Matthew “Matt” Saye, of Prince George, Va.
Bill leaves behind his wife of 53 years, Rebecca “Becky” Owens Menefee, a son, William J. Rainey and wife Caroline of Charleston, a daughter, Betty J. Saye of Petersburg, Va., son-in-law, William Jay Saye of Oak Hill, daughter-in-law Michelle Menefee of Covington, Va.; and three grandchildren, Elizabeth Saye of Petersburg, Va., Brendan Rainey of Charleston, and Kate Rainey of Charleston.
He is also survived by sisters, JoAnn Kessler of Fayetteville, Mary Pearson of Oak Hill, Wilma Gelfeld and husband, Paul of Gaithersburg, Md., Peggy Greene and husband, Carson of Indiana, Pa., and Nancy Smith of Oak Hill, and two brothers John Menefee of Oak Hill, and Paul “Jackie” Menefee of Oak Hill, along with many nieces, nephews and cousins.
A 1954 graduate of Collins High School in Oak Hill and he was also a graduate of Beckley College with an associate degree in Education.
Bill was the former pastor of Fellowship Memorial Baptist Church in Oak Hill for 43 years. During that time he was actively involved in the Fayette Plateau Ministerial Association and held various offices for several years. Bill was happiest when serving God and helping others. Bill served Fayette County and surrounding areas preaching God's word and caring for people. He loved spending time with his family, his church family, watching football and enjoying his grandchildren.
The family will receive friends at Fellowship Memorial Baptist Church in Oak Hill on Friday evening, August 2, 2013 from 5 to 8 p.m.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. at Fellowship Memorial Baptist Church on Saturday, August 3, 2013. Burial will be at High Lawn Memorial Park, Oak Hill. Rev. Robert “Bobby” Pauley and Rev. Pete Lokant will officiate.

Anrek Shey Steele, 5 month old son of Samuel Steele and Megan Audet of Pineville, passed away Saturday, July 27, 2013 at Welch Community Hospital.
He was born February 10, 2013, in Raleigh County.
Anrek was preceded in death by his grandfather, Rodney Audet.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his grandparents, Mike and Patty Mullins and Janet Audet, all of Brenton. Great-grandparents, Dennis and Delores Audet of Saulsville and Betty Sanders of Elgin, S.C.
