George W. ‘Buck’ Ray
George W. (Buck) Ray died Thursday, June 27, 2013, following a long illness.
Born November 27, 1933, at Keyrock, he was the son of the late Roy Ray and Naoma Britton.
George was a supervisor at S & C Electric Company in Chicago, Ill., for 37 years. George was also a Veteran from the Korean War. He was a loving husband and father.
George was preceded in death by his wife of 39 years, Wanda P. Ray, and sister, Minnie L. Reedy.
Those left to cherish his memory include three children, Richard Ray of Antioch, Ill., Drema K. Parker of Russellville, Ala., and husband Patrick, David D. Ray of Antioch, Ill., and wife, Laureen; grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Kimberly L. Ray of Florida; great-granddaughter, Brianna Powers, Samantha Ray of Illinois; great-granddaughters, Meah, Mariah, Maleagh; Michael Ray of Alabama, Shane Harper of Alabama, Steven Harper and wife Desiree; great-grandson, Marc of Colorado; Kenny Harper and wife, Ashley; great-grandson, Clayton of Alabama; granddaughter, Savannah, and grandson, Garrett, of Ill.; sister, Mary Hatfield and husband, Ed, of Mabscott; brother, Coy Ray of Jesse.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, June 30, 2013, at Blue Ridge Funeral Home, Beckley, with Rev. Gary Ford officiating and Steve Ford as soloist. Burial will follow at Keyrock Family Cemetery. Pallbearers will be family and friends.
Friends may gather with the family Sunday from 1 to 2 p.m. at the funeral home.

EDMOND — Betty Rose “Dolly” Syner, 83, of Edmond, passed away Tuesday, June 26, 2013.
Her remains rest at High Lawn Funeral Home, where the funeral will be at 2 p.m. Monday and where the family will receive friends from noon until time of service.
