James Aaron Pridemore
OAK HILL — James Aaron Pridemore, 40, of Oak Hill, passed away Friday, April 12, 2013.
Born December 26, 1972, he was the son of Franklin Pridemore and the late Sandra Justus Pridemore.
James enjoyed spending time with his son and being a father, spending time outdoors, guiding the river, hiking, mountain biking, and riding his motorcycle. James had an infectious personality, he never met a stranger. His smile and laughter are in the memories of all those who knew him and will be sorely missed.
He was a graduate of Fayetteville High School and WVU Tech; he was employed as certified electrician.
In addition to his mother, James was preceded in death by his grandparents, Lawrence Justus and Thelma Justus McKnight; Uncle Ernest Pridemore and cousin Gaye Fox.
Those left to cherish his memory include his son, Jakob Pridemore; life partner, Candy Pietkoski; step-son, Kaleb Pietkoski; sister, Rebecca Bandy and husband Kent; nephews Matt Patrick and wife Hollie, C.K. Bandy; great niece Alexia Patrick, great nephew Tyler Patrick, and many other family members; uncles, Joseph McKnight and wife Gail, Milton Pridemore, Richard Pridemore and wife Frances; aunts, Sandy Pridemore, Norma Fox; cousins, Steven and Chris Pridemore, Sherri and Carrie Pridemore, Jane and Roger Fox.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, April 19, 2013 at Blue Ridge Funeral Home, Beckley, with Minister Samuel Lambert officiating. Entombment will follow at Restlawn Cemetery, Victor, W.Va.
Friends may gather with the family Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Howard Smith, age 86 of Sophia, passed away on Tuesday, April 16, 2013, at the Beckley VA Hospital, following an extended illness.
Born July 11, 1926, in Wyco, W.Va., to the late John Henry Smith and Martha James Smith.
Mr. Smith was a coal miner most of his life and also an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting and fishing.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Ricky Smith; and brothers, Billy, Junior, Garland, and Gean Smith.
Those surviving include his son David Smith of Sophia; daughters, Martha Ferguson of Beckley, and Vicki Lynn Cadle of Sophia; brother, Clifford Smith of Palm City, Fla.; and a sister, Mary Virginia Mills of Sophia.
In keeping with Howard’s final wishes he will be cremated.
There will be no services.
