Ruby was an active member at the First Assembly of God Church in Beckley, that later changed its name to Calvary Assembly of God, when the new church was built. She loved helping others especially in time of need. She prepared meals for the grieving along with celebrations. She taught Sunday School and was founder of the Saturday Morning Prayer Meeting at Calvary Assembly that has continued and is still ongoing for more than 17 years.

As Ruby’s health declined she moved into The Summit of Hidden Valley. The family would like to give thanks to all her friends and staff at the Summit for all their kindness and care the last couple of years.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, William J. Hickman, brothers, Charles and George and a sister, Ruth Kelly.
