Clarence ‘Jiggs’ Brewer

Clarence ‘Jiggs’ Brewer, a native of Logan, died Oct. 2, 2013.

Service will be 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 5, 2013, at Mounts Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. Arville Cline officiating. Burial will follow in Highland Memory Gardens, Godby Heights.

Friends may call from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

Johnny Mack Brown Sr.

DAVIN — Johnny Mack Brown Sr., 59, of Davin, passed away on Friday, October 4, 2013.

Okey Thomas Cook

1 Corinthians 13:13 And now abideth faith, hope, love, these three; but the greatest of this is love.

Okey Thomas Cook Jr., age 54, of Daniels, went to his heavenly home on Monday,  October 1, 2013.

Born on May 24, 1959 in Baltimore, Md., he was the son of Sylvia Kincaid Cook of Coal City and the late Okey Thomas Cook Sr.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his paternal and maternal  grandparents, also by nephews, James Gardner and Christian Bolen.

Okey was a coal miner for 36 years and was employed by Affinity Coal Company. He attended the Whitby Church of God. He and his wife enjoyed horseback and buggy riding and currently owned four horses.

In addition to his mother, those left to cherish his memory include his wife Debbie Lilly Cook who he said was the love of his life and his gift of God, a son Eddie Lilly and his wife Amanda, of Daniels, daughters, Jamie Kelley of Odd, Samantha Johnson and her husband Scott of North Carolina and Elizabeth Cook of Tennessee; a son Brandon Trivett of Florida.   Sisters, Beverly Evans and her husband Mason, Darlene Israel, Sherri Bolen and her husband Chris, all of Coal City. He also had eight grandchildren and several nieces and nephews, along with a special friend Tim Lusk and others.

Funeral services will be conducted at the Rose and Quesenberry Funeral Home Shady Spring Chapel on Saturday, October 5, 2013 at 3 p.m. with Rev. Kepple Bolen officiating.  Burial will follow at the Lilly Family Cemetery on Hughes Road, Daniels.

Friends may call two hours prior to the service Saturday at the funeral home in Shady Spring.

Pallbearers will be Eddie Lilly, Scott Johnson, Chris Bolen, Mason Evans, Brantly Gardner, Dustin Tuma, Mikey Israel and Christopher Bolen.
