Robert L. Bays

VICTOR — Robert L. Bays, 85, of Horseshoe Road, Victor, escorted by heavenly angels passed from his temporary home at Mary’s Garden Center in Oak Hill, to his eternal home in Heaven on Monday, March 3, 2014,  to be reunited with his wife of 63 years, Ethel Mae Bays, who preceded him in death in September, 2012; also preceded in death by two children, Robert Dale Bays and Herschel Franklin Bays; two great grandchildren; his parents, Leland Bays and Bernice Bays; as well as two sisters, Evelyn and Helen.

Bob was born on March 19, 1928 at Nallen, W.Va., served his Country as a Combat Soldier during the Korean War and spent many years working in the timber industry. Prior to his illness, Bob was an avid hunter and outdoorsman who enjoyed sitting around the campfire with his sons and sons-in-law. Bobs laugh and his smile as well as his kindness will be missed beyond words, however it’s our belief in Gods Word that whosoever calls upon the name of the Lord shall be saved and to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord that gives us the confidence that we will be together again for eternity.
