Pearlie Ann Rakes Bryan, 89, passed away February 2, 2014.

Ruby Salyer Butcher

SUMMERSVILLE — Ruby Jewel Salyer Butcher, 86, of Summersville, passed away on February 2, 2014.

Visitation will be held at 12 noon on Friday, February 7, 2014 at the Summersville Memorial United Methodist Church in Summersville with services to immediately follow at 1 p.m. Services will be conducted by Rev. David Lancaster. Interment will follow at the Flatwoods Cemetery in Flatwoods, W.Va.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Nicholas 4-H Youth Foundation, 715 Main Street, Summersville, WV, 26651.

Mary Lee Coffey

EDMOND — Mary Lee Coffey, 97, of Edmond, passed away Thursday, January 30, 2014 at home.

Born on November 6, 1916 at Tams, she was the daughter of the late Cornelius and Annie Mae Haney Bryant.

Mrs. Coffey was a member of Pleasant View Church of the Brethren, Gatewood. She worked and retired from Plateau Medical Center, Oak Hill, as a cook.    

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Max Coffey, Sr.; six brothers; one sister; son-in-law, Lowell Scarbro; and six grandchildren.

Left to cherish many wonderful memories are her children: Nancy Scarbro of Grants, NM, Peggy (Scotty) Kelley of Fayetteville, Mary Etta (Jack) Harter of Atlanta, Ga., Max (Barbara) Coffey Jr. of Edmond, Orval “Frank” (Mary Ellen) Coffey of Gatewood, and Terry (Charlie) Treadway of Fayetteville; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren; and a host of other family and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m., Thursday, February 6, 2014 at the Pleasant View Church of the Brethren, Gatewood, with Pastor Rick Edwards officiating. Burial will follow at the Coffey Family Cemetery at Edmond.

The family will receive friends from 12 noon until time of the service at the church.
