Linda Jo Adams Huffman

Linda Jo Adams Huffman, 69, died Jan. 25, 2014.

Funeral services will be at noon Wednesday, Jan. 29, at the Central United Baptist Church with the Rev. Randy Skeens and the Rev. Bobby Adams officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery. Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 28, at the Central United Baptist Church Christian Center, with an Eastern Star service at 7 p.m.

Ronald Lee Lilly

HINTON — Ronald Lee Lilly, 64, of 502 Greenbrier Ave., Hinton, died Saturday, January 25, 2014, at Princeton Community Hospital following a short illness.

Born March 10, 1949, in Hinton, he was the son of the late Russell F. and Gladys Eloise Meadows Lilly.

Ronnie was a 1967 graduate of Hinton High School and earned a degree in criminal justice from Bluefield State College. He was a Marine Corps veteran of the Vietnam War, serving as a radio operator. Ronnie was a former deputy for the Summers County Sheriff’s Department and a former police officer for the City of Hinton, serving as Chief of Police for several years. An avid hunter and fisherman, he had a great love of the outdoors and was particularly known for his love of deer hunting. He served as Secretary-Treasurer of Dawn Sportsman’s Club in Summers County. Ronnie was a heart transplant patient in 1990 at Duke University Medical Center. He was a lifelong resident of Hinton.

Survivors include his wife of 42 years, Vickey Murphy Lilly. A son, Austin Lilly and wife Aleshia of Hinton. Two granddaughters, Avery and Annalyn Lilly. A brother, Russell Lilly of Ohio, and a cousin, Linda Burdette of Beckley.

At Ronnie’s request, the body has been cremated and a private family interment will be at a later date.
