Born September 3, 1926, on Simms Mountain, Rainelle, she was the daughter of the late Buzz Okey Simms and Esta Wooldridge Simms.

She was a member of Bellwood Baptist Church where she played the piano for several years, and she was a homemaker. Elizabeth enjoyed being outdoors, gardening, fishing, painting, and also working puzzles and reading comics. But her real passion was music, and she was very talented.

Left to cherish her memory are: one daughter, Patricia Diane Adkins and husband Roger of Smoot (with whom she made her home); two granddaughters, Crystal Adkins and fiancé John of Backus Mtn, Meadow Bridge, and Christy Hamons and husband Lee of Bellwood; four great-grandchildren, Logan, Ethan, Nicholas, and Sophie Mae; nephews, Ralph Simms and wife, Mary, of Sandstone and Richard Simms and wife, Lois, of Elton.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, June 29, 2013, at Wallace & Wallace Chapel in Rainelle, with Pastor Bob Meadows officiating. Burial will follow at Wallace Memorial Cemetery at Clintonville.
