Anita Gail Blankenship

BRENTON — Anita Gail Blankenship, 69, of Brenton, passed away Tuesday, July 1, 2014, in Bowers Hospice House in Beckley.

Anita was born June 30, 1945, in Bradshaw, W.Va., a daughter of the late Fred and Opal Green Ford.

She was a Cemetery Sales Representative.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by one sister, Rita Faye Clay.

Survivors include her loving husband Cecil Blankenship of the home; two sons, Wendell and Drexel Blankenship of Peru, Indiana; three grandsons, Tyler, Cooper and Logan.

Per Anita’s wishes, her remains will be cremated.

MORGANTOWN — Christine Boggs, 58, died June 30, 2014.

Service will be 1 p.m. Tuesday, July 8, 2014, at the Sandlick Freewill Baptist Church, with the Revs. Bill Cantrell and Tilley Walls officiating. Burial will follow in the Browning and Grimmett Cemetery, Bruno.

Sandra Gail Stewart Brunty

PENCE SPRINGS — Sandra Gail Stewart Brunty, 62, of Pence Springs, formerly of Boulder Hill, Ill., passed away on Sunday, June 29, 2014, at Hubbard Hospice House West, South Charleston, W.Va., following a long illness.

Born January 13, 1952, in Welch, W.Va., she was the daughter of Edith N. Gunter Stewart of Pence Springs, and the late Weldon C. “Bub” Stewart. In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by a brother, Harvard D. “Pete” Stewart.

Mrs. Brunty was a senior underwriter manager, having retired from BrickStreet Insurance Company, Charleston, W.Va., after many years of service. She was a 1969 graduate of Talcott High School, Talcott, W.Va., and attended Waubonsee Community College in Sugar Grove, Ill., and Mountain State University in Beckley.

Mrs. Brunty was a 29-year resident of Boulder Hill, Ill., prior to moving back to West Virginia in preparation for her future retirement. She loved her home in Pence Springs, and dearly enjoyed spending time at home with her family, especially with her beloved grandchildren, Tyler and Abigail, who were her passion.

Survivors include her devoted husband of 45 years, Davis Brunty of Pence Springs; a son, John Brunty and his wife, Jen, of Crawfordsville, Ind.; two grandchildren, Tyler and Abigail Brunty of Crawfordsville, Ind.; her mother, Edith N. Gunter Stewart of Pence Springs; a brother, Jeffrey Stewart and his wife, Shirley, of Pence Springs; two sisters, Sheila McMillion of Pence Springs, and Barbara June Depriest of Pence Springs; a sister-in-law, Sharon Stewart of Pence Springs; and many loving aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Funeral services will be Thursday, July 3, 2014, at 2 p.m. at the Pence Springs Community Church, Pence Springs, with the Rev. Roger Persinger officiating. Burial will follow at the Stewart and Gunter Cross Over Trails Cemetery, Pence Springs.

Friends may call Thursday, July 3, 2014, from 1 to 2 p.m. at the Pence Springs Community Church, Pence Springs.

Serving as pallbearers will be John Mize, John Wimmer, Daniel Brunty, Matthew Snyder, Charles Hill, Ryan King, Timothy Wynes, and Keith Heaton.

For those considering an expression of sympathy, in lieu of flowers, because of the loving care and treatment that she received at Select Specialty Hospital in Charleston, W.Va., the family suggests that donations be made in memory of Mrs. Brunty to The Foundation for the Thomas Memorial and Saint Francis Hospitals, Inc., 4605 MacCorkle Avenue, S.W., South Charleston, WV  25309. Please make checks payable to “The Foundation” and place “Sandra Brunty” in the memo.
