Mary Elaine Barber

Mrs. Mary Elaine Barber, 85, of Beckley, formerly of Whitby, died Friday, June 27, 2014.

Born January 21, 1929, in Jonben, WV, she was the daughter of the late Junior and Ethel Cousins Walker.

She was a member of St. Paul Baptist Temple.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by brothers, William, Howard, James, Eugene, and Galvester Walker.

Those left to cherish precious memories are her sons, Charles C. (Edie) Barber, Jr., of Phenix City, AL, Paul E. Barber of Beckley; daughters, Regina G. Barber, Charlene L. (Harold) Dow and Helen E. Morris, all of Beckley, WV, Drema K. Barber, Valerie E. Ford, Melody (Ricky) Barber-Hence and Marilyn F. Barber, all of Indianapolis, IN, and Arvella Barber of St. Clairsville, OH; brother, Lawrence Walker of Indianapolis, IN; sisters, Helen Summerville of Indianapolis, IN, and Hattie Perry of Detroit, MI; 14 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral service will be 1 p.m. Tuesday, July 1, 2014, at St. Paul Baptist Temple, 129 Rice Street, Beckley, with Rev. Walter Leach and Bishop Fred. T. Simms officiating. Burial will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, Prosperity. Friends may call one hour prior to the service at the church.

RONCEVERTE — Mary Hanna Boggs Dean, 86, of Ronceverte, passed away Saturday, June 28, 2014.

A graveside service will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 1, at Greenbrier Memorial Gardens in Lewisburg, with the Rev. Hat Defibaugh officiating. There will be no visitation.

In lieu of flowers, donation of sympathy may be made to a charity of your choice.
