Graveside service will be 1 p.m. Thursday, February 13, 2014, at Taylor Cemetery, Fenwick Mountain, with Pastor J.D. Morris officiating.
Visitation will be Thursday, February 13, 2014, from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Simons-Coleman Funeral Home, Richwood.

Samuel Russell Bennett, 83, of Tug Creek, died at 2:04 a.m. Tuesday, February 11, 2014, at St. Francis Hospital in Charleston, W.Va.

June Elizabeth Coleman
QUINWOOD — June Elizabeth Coleman, 83, of Quinwood formerly of Highland Springs, departed this life on Monday, February 10, 2014.
Born May 3, 1930 at Marfrance, she was the daughter of the late Staley and Edith Smoot Cale.
June was a homemaker and at one time worked in the stock room at the G.C. Murphy Company. She loved to be busy; planting flowers, playing the piano and spending time with her beloved kitties Muffin and JoJo.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brother Staley C. Cale Jr.
June leaves behind many people who loved her dearly.
She is survived by her husband Walter H. Coleman; son Jim Crist of Jenks, Okla.; daughter Susan Lomicka and son-in-law Joe of Henrico, Va.; six grandchildren Mary Crist, Ashley Lomicka, Jenny Lomicka, Matthew Lomicka, Mason Crist and Cale Crist; two great-grandchildren Fred and Jack; and her sister-in-law and shopping buddy, Linda Cale.
A memorial service to celebrate her life will be held on Sunday, February 16, at 2:30 p.m. at Highland Springs Church of the Nazerene, 6003 Hawks Lane, Richmond, Va.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations of sympathy be made to The American Cancer Society in memory of June Coleman at 4240 Park Place Court, Glen Allen, VA 23060.

FAYETTEVILLE — Bert Ray Nugen, 87, of Fayetteville, passed away Tuesday, January 11, 2014.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Friday, February 14, 2014, at Fayetteville First Church of God with Pastor Mike Parsons and Pastor Danny Goins officiating. Interment will follow at Highlawn Memorial Park in Oak Hill.

Charles Edgar Pugh
Charles Edgar Pugh, age 82, of Eccles, beloved husband and best friend of Mary Williams Pugh for 56 years, passed away peacefully on Monday, February 10, 2014, after a long illness.
Mr. Pugh was born on June 1, 1931, in Eccles, W.Va. He was preceded death by his parents, Frank Arthur and Mary Alice McGee Pugh as well as siblings Sally, Naomi, Frank Arthur, Leonard, James, and Dexter.
Left to cherish his memories are his wife Mary, daughter Kathie and husband Kevin Pitchford of Staunton, Va., daughter Kimberly and husband David Farley of Beckley, son Eddie Pugh and wife Cara of Eccles; two sisters, Margaret Stone of Eccles, and Pearl Hebb of Colorado. Grandchildren include, Nikole, Nicholas, Rachel, Cameron, and Sonni. Great grandchildren, Jaimen, Landon, Maddie, and Breckston, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives and close friends.
After proudly serving his country in the Korean War as an Armor Crewmen (tanker), in the U.S. Army, Mr. Pugh was honorably discharged and went on to a successful career of 43 years with the Kroger Company. He lived his life as he served his country, with pride, integrity, respect, and honor. Those are the qualities he had instilled in his children and they have instilled it in theirs. He will be sadly missed by all who knew him.
Funeral services will be conducted at the Rose and Quesenberry Peace Chapel in Beckley on Friday, February 14, 2014, at 2 p.m. with Pastor Danny Bennett officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Park in Beckley.
Friends may visit with the family from noon until service time on Friday.
Pallbearers will be family members and friends.

Mr. Sean Christopher Shivers, 42, of Beckley, died Friday, February 7, 2014.
Born July 31, 1971, he was the son of Herman Shivers of Charlotte, N.C., and Geraldine Nelson Shivers of Detroit, Mich.
He was preceded in death by his son, Isaiah “Zay” Shivers; maternal grandfather, William A. Nelson; maternal great-grandmother, Julia A. Nelson; uncles, William “Bro” Nelson and Kevin Allen.
Left to cherish precious memories are his wife, Kimberly Michelle Jackson Shivers; son, Dezmahn Shivers of Summerville, S.C.; daughters, Chante’ Shivers of Beckley, and DeZhane Hardiman of Fort Mill, S.C.; brother, Walter C. Preston of Atlanta, Ga.; sisters, Tamara D. Shivers and Natia N. Shivers, both of Detroit, Mich.; aunt, Maureen Nelson (who raised him); four grandchildren; and a host of aunts, uncles, and cousins who will dearly miss him.
Funeral service will be 11 a.m., Friday, February 14, 2014, at Heart of God Ministries, 1703 S. Kanawha Street, Beckley, with Bishop Fred T. Simms officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Memorial Park, Beckley.

Margaret Dorine Wood
Margaret Dorine Wood, 92, of Beckley, passed away Sunday, February 9, 2014. She was a life-long resident of the Beckley area and spent winters in Florida for several years.
She was born on October 30, 1921. She graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School and was a member of the Carriage Drive Church of Christ. Margaret worked 40 years for Smith & Stover Coal Co. She enjoyed traveling, reading, watching sports, and in her younger days she loved to roller skate.
Margaret was preceded in death by her parents, Jospeh P. and Lottie Wood; two brothers, Buck and Kyle; two half sisters, Lola Maynor and Pearl Spangenberg.
She is survived by her close friend and caregiver Gloria Sweeney; special nephew Jim Maynor (Brenda); nieces Kylene Martin (Jim), Sally and Jan Deaner, Lynda Shelton (Harrison); Donna Jo Sutton (Mark); and several other nieces and nephews.
Per Margaret’s request, there will be no visitation or funeral service. Graveside rites will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, February 13, 2014, at Sunset Memorial Park with Jim Wilson officiating. Friends who would like to attend may gather at Calfee Funeral Home at 10:30 a.m. Thursday to join the procession to the cemetery.
