Larry Kenneth Ball

ALDERSON — Larry Kenneth Ball, age 65, of Alderson, passed away suddenly on Saturday, June 14, 2014 in Alderson.

Lowell Douglas Billups

HICO — Lowell Douglas Billups, 72, of Hico, passed away on Saturday, June 14, 2014, at the Hubbard Hospice House in Charleston, following a long illness.

He was born on March 26, 1942, in Ramsey, W.Va., he was the son of the late Esmond and Elizabeth Hesse Billups.

Mr. Billups was of the Baptist faith. He was in the United States Army, a truck driver working for the Department of Highways for 35 years. He loved to do mechanic work, watching NASCAR, wresting and golf. Lowell was a loving husband, father, grandfather and loved his many friends.

Other than his parents, he is preceded in death by one sister: Alice Lovett and two  brothers: Darrell Billups and Jerry Billups.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Sandra Campbell Billups of Hico; one  daughter, Sherry Sewell and Scott of Weston; three sons, Doug Billups of Hico, Travis Billups and Olivia of Phoenix, Ariz. and Jason Billups and Ayunnah of Boomer. He was a loving grandfather to four grandchildren: Joshua, Tyler, Desmond and Haley. Also left to cherish his memory are three sisters: Ruth Stover and Jay Yeagor of Marion, Ohio, Joann Novak and Frank of Reynoldsburg, Ohio, Barbara Hinkle of Columbus, Ohio; four brothers: Danny Billups of Ramsey, Elmer Billups and  Pandora of Canvas, Larry Billups and Martha of Oak Hill, and Scott Billups and Kay of Brunswick, Ohio.

Services will be held on Tuesday, June 17, 2014, at 2 p.m. at the Wallace & Wallace Funeral Chapel in Ansted with Pastor Jim Dempsey officiating. Friends may visit with the family one hour prior to service from 1 to 2 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow at the Cliffy Cemetery at Hico.
