Louella Rock

Louella Rock, age 74, of Beaver, passed away at the St. Francis Hospital in Charleston, on Tuesday, February 5, 2013.

Arrangements are pending completion at the Rose and Quesenberry Funeral Home, 1901 South Kanawha Street, Beckley.

James Alvis ‘Jimmy’ Spencer

James Alvis “Jimmy” Spencer, age 63, of Crab Orchard, passed away Tuesday, February 5, 2013, after a courageous battle against cancer.

He was born in Beckley on November 12, 1949, and his parents Alice Atkinson Spencer  and Alvis Spencer preceded him in death.

Jimmy worked most of his life as an asphalt truck driver. He enjoyed racing cars and driving trucks.

Jimmy worked and resided in Boonesmill, Va. for many years before returning to West Virginia.

Survivors include his daughter, Janet Reed and her husband Danny; a sister, Connie Deanne Spencer; three grandchildren, Danny, Crystal, and Andrea Reed, an aunt and uncle, Lahoma and Roger Hart and several cousins.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday February 8, 2013, at the Rose and Quesenberry Peace Chapel in Beckley, with Pastor Don Kelly officiating. Burial will follow at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens at Prosperity.

Friends may call at the funeral home one hour prior to the services on Friday.

Cameron Lee Taylor

Cameron Lee Taylor, 54, of Evansville, IN, passed away at 8:45 p.m. Saturday, January 12, 2013, at his home.

Cameron was born August 2, 1958, in Beckley, West Virginia. He was a 1976 graduate of Shady Spring High School in Shady Spring, WV, and a veteran of the United States Army. Cameron worked for Power Technologies in Petersburg, Indiana, as an engineer for fiber optic projects, certified CFOI and CFOT and was a member of OSA and IEEE. He attended NorthWoods Baptist Church.

He is survived by mother, Rita (Bottomly) Taylor of Beckley, WV, and niece and nephew, Michelle Dawn (Taylor) Nottingham, Jonathan Taylor, Evansville, IN, and sister-in-law Gloria Wood Taylor of Daniels. He was preceded in death by his father, James Roscoe Taylor, brother, James Byron Taylor, and grandparents, Roy and Bernice Bottomly.

Visitation starting at 1 p.m. with a Memorial Service being held at 2 p.m. Sunday, February 10, 2013, at Living Waters Baptist Church, 201 Jennings St. Beckley, WV, with Pastor Mike Gunnoe officiating. In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made to the “Living Waters Baptist Church” in his honor.
