Patsy Stone

“I want my flowers while I’m living,” is something Pasty Carol Stone used to say all the time. She wanted to enjoy things while she was alive, instead of them being useless to her in death. On Saturday, February 2nd, 2013, Patsy joined her boys in heaven. She was 74 years of age.

Patsy Carol Acord was born on April 11, 1938, at Rock Creek. She has made a happy home with her beloved husband, John Robert Stone, for the past 54 years. Patsy’s family was her greatest source of happiness and pride.

Patsy was preceded in death by her two precious sons, Robert Dean Stone and Thomas Paul Stone.

In addition to John Robert, Patsy leaves to cherish her memory her daughter, Patti Dickens and her husband, Tom; a daughter-in-law, Kelly Stone; her grandchildren, Shannon Taylor and her husband, Kenneth, Amanda Birchfield, Patrick Dickens, Jessica Stone and Haley Stone; her great-grandchildren, Issac Young, Thomas Young, Chloe Fink and Jolene Taylor; as well as many, many friends, her extended family and neighbors.

On Tuesday, February 5th, at 1 p.m. we will remember the life of Patsy Stone with a “Service of Remembrance” at the Melton Mortuary Chapel. Jerry Brooks Jr. will be officiating. Patsy will then be laid to rest beside her sons at her home place in Fairdale.

The family will receive friends from noon until the service hour.

Pallbearers will be: Dan Kingery, James Allen, Hobert Allen, Eric Clemons, Patrick Dickens and Issac Young.

In lieu of flowers, monetary gifts to offset the funeral expenses can be made to the Melton Mortuary. The Stone family will be so appreciative.

Condolences may be sent to the family’s guestbook at

Arrangements by Melton Mortuary and Cremation Center, Beckley, WV.
