Mark Steven Allenbaugh

Mark Steven Allenbaugh, 56, of Beckley, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 15, 2013.

A private service will be at a later date.

Blue Ridge Funeral Home, 5251 Robert C. Byrd Drive, Beckley, is assisting the family.

Lillian Bowyer

ANSTED — Lillian Nadeen Bowyer, 83, of Ansted, died Wednesday, Jan. 16, 2013.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 20, at Lovers Leap Baptist Church, Ansted, with Pastor Ron George Sr. and Pastor James Ellison officiating. Entombment will follow at Restlawn Memory Gardens, Victor. Friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. Saturday at Dodd-Payne-Hess Funeral Home.

Memorials may be made in her memory to Lovers Leap Baptist Church Building Fund, PO Box 45, Ansted, WV 25812.

Rev. Charles Holroyd Browning

Rev. Charles Holroyd Browning, age 91, of Crab Orchard, passed away at Bowers Hospice House in Beckley on Wednesday, Jan. 16, 2013.

Born on Feb. 6, 1921, at Glen Rogers, he was the son of the late Charles Virgil Browning and Blanche Williams Browning.

Rev. Browning was a retired UMWA coal miner, and also from the West Virginia Department of Mining. Rev. Browning was a former minister in the area for 25 years, having pastored Loupe Creek Baptist Church in Fayette County, New Haven Baptist Church at Cool Ridge, was an assistant pastor at Akers Baptist Church at Maple Meadow, and pastored Mountain Valley Baptist Church at Odd. He was a member of the Crab Orchard Baptist Church at Crab Orchard. Rev. Browning was a U.S. Navy veteran of WWII, having been attached to the Atlantic Fleet in communications for troop movement. He served 18 months with Saco in communications in China-Burma Theater.

Rev. Browning was preceded in death by brothers Benjamin, Lloyd, Thomas Jefferson “T.J.,” and Eddie Browning.

He was the last surviving member of his immediate family.

Those survivors left to cherish his memory include his wife of 67 years, Thelma Martin Browning; two sons, Robert Richard Browning and his wife Jeronna of Fairdale, and Samuel Keith Browning and his wife Donna of Tolleytown.

Grandchildren Robert R. Browning II and his wife Kristen of Cornelius, N.C., Brandon Browning and his wife Angel of Crab Orchard, Beth Ann Williams and her husband Dwayne of Junction City, Kan., Melissa Weeks and her husband Derek of Tolleytown, Jeremy Crouse and his wife Lendsy of Tolleytown, and 12 great-grandchildren also survive.

Funeral services will be conducted to Celebrate The Life Of Charles H. Browning on Saturday, Jan. 19, 2013, at 11 a.m. at Rose and Quesenberry Peace Chapel in Beckley with Rev. Mike Sisson and Rev. Dean Adams officiating. Burial will follow at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens at Prosperity.

Friends may call at the funeral home from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday.

Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Bowers Hospice House, 454 Cranberry Drive, Beckley, WV, in memory of Mr. Browning.

Arrangements are by Rose and Quesenberry Funeral Home, 1901 S. Kanawha St., Beckley.
