Sylvia Geraldine Price

RAVENCLIFF — Sylvia Geraldine Price, 83, went home to be with the Lord Friday, July 5, 2013.

Born December 29, 1929, she was the daughter of the late Howard and Viola Brown Powers.

Mrs. Price was a retired Wyoming County school teacher having taught at Glen Rogers Grade School, and a member of Glen Fork Baptist Temple.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Billy B. Price; and stepfather, P.T. Sigmon.

Those left to cherish her memory are two daughters, Drucilla Perry and husband, John, of Ravencliff and Anita Swor and husband, Lee, of Elkview; a son, Howard Price and wife, Sherrie, of Fyffe, AL; three sisters, Naomi Halsey and Marjorie Shumate and husband, Claude, of Glen Fork and Pasty Hartenstein of Bradley; a brother, Elwood Powers and wife, Glenna, of Glen Fork; two stepbrothers, James Sigmon and wife, Betty, of Glen Fork and Buddy Sigmon and wife, Dixie, of Bristol, TN; eleven grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren; and a host of family and friends.

A celebration of Mrs. Price’s life will be 1 p.m. Tuesday, July 9, 2013, at Glen Fork Baptist Temple with Rev. Lee Swor and Pastor Larry Halsey officiating. Mrs. Perry will be laid to rest by her husband in Palm Memorial Gardens, Matheny.

Casketbearers will be family and friends.

The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. until time of service Tuesday at the church.

Elizabeth Mae Scarborough

Elizabeth Mae Scarborough, 87, of Beckley, passed away Saturday, July 6, 2013, at Bowers Hospice House.

Born January 11, 1926, at Stanaford, WV, she was the daughter of the late John and Mary Campbell Farrish.

Elizabeth is survived by a daughter, Cheryl Spenser of Rockville, MD; son, Steve Scarborough of Beckley; son, Woody Scarborough of Williamsport, MD; daughter, Cathy Cross of Beckley; daughter, Harriette Furrow of Beckley; 14 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; brother, Joe Farrish, and sister, Erma Suttle.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church with Father Pen officiating. Burial will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. There will be no visitation.

Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
