DUNBAR — Mr. Yauncey Freeman, 56, of Dunbar, formerly of Fayetteville, departed this natural life on Tuesday, May 28, 2013, after a short illness.
Born October 24, 1956, to Willie Mae Thomas Freeman of Fayetteville, WV, and the late Charles Freeman, he was the third of 10 children.
Yauncey graduated from Collins High School and received his degree in Electrical Engineering from West Virginia Institute of Technology. He spent the majority of his working career with AEP working primarily at the John Amos Plant. He enjoyed working with the youth and spent many hours mentoring young men through West Virginia Heat Basketball. He attended church at New Life Ministries and enjoyed the pursuit of knowledge, working with his hands and a good laugh. He was lovingly known as “Fathead” to his sisters and “Encyclopedia First Addition” to his niece.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his brother, Quentin Freeman.
Along with his mother, those left to cherish precious memories are his son, Tristan Freeman of Huntington; brothers, Charles of Fayetteville, Pastor Byron of Oak Hill, James of Parkersburg, and David Charles of California; sisters, Pastor Sancerria (Willie) Carroll, Wauketa Okoli, Aleta Freeman, and Yolanda Freeman, all of Fayetteville, and Bettina Freeman of California; granddaughter Taniya Shamar of Huntington and special adopted son, Walter Clay. He is also survived by nine nieces, eight nephews, seven aunts, one uncle, and many cousins and loved ones.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday, June 5, 2013, at Faith Tabernacle Church, 135 S. Court Street, Fayetteville, with Pastors Byron Freeman and Sancerria Carroll officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Memorial Park, Beckley.

Patsy Jean Cline Maynard, 55, of Beckley, formerly of Crouches Farm, passed away Friday, May 31, 2013.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 5, at the Brenton Church of God, with Brother Seth Cline officiating. Friends may gather with the family from 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the church. She will be laid to rest in the Cline Family Cemetery, Sunhill.
