Pauline Shrewsbury Archie

SPANISHBURG — Pauline Shrewsbury Archie, 81, of the Beckley Road, Spanishburg, passed away Monday, April 28. 2014.

Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Thursday, May 1, 2014, from the Burns Wornal Chapel of the Memorial Funeral Directory on the Athens Road in Princeton with Pastors Ralph Calfee and Jamie Mattox officiating. Burial will follow in Resthaven Memorial Park Cemetery in Princeton.

Friends may visit with the family Thursday from noon until the service hour.

Master Sgt. Elizabeth ‘Beth’ Caldwell (USAF Ret.)

Master Sgt. Elizabeth (Beth) Caldwell USAF (Ret.), passed away April 23, 2014, in Gulf Breeze, Fla. She was 54.

Born in Union, W.Va., December 29, 1959, she grew up in Lewisburg and graduated from Greenbrier East High School in 1978. She attended Glenville State College and entered the United States Air Force in 1981.

During her 23 years of service, she was awarded seven commendation medals, four of which were combat related, as well as the Joint Services Commendation Medal. She was named outstanding NCO while deployed in a combat zone. She was deployed in many zones, many of which were combat related and some where classified. Deployments include, but were not limited to, Korea, Okinawa, Bosnia-Kosovo, Operation Desert Shield, Operation Desert Storm, Operation Enduring Freedom, Operation Iraqi Freedom and Afghanistan.

Preceded in death by her mother, Jane B Caldwell, survivors include father, Dr. Robert Caldwell of Lewisburg, W.Va.; sisters Susan Caldwell Bossert of Oklahoma City and Jody Caldwell Garavaglia of Frankford, W.Va. and nephew, Ryan Garavaglia of Frankford, and companion, Jennifer Blanton currently stationed in London, England.

Visitation will be Thursday, May 1, 2014, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Wallace & Wallace Funeral Home in Lewisburg. Services will be held at 2 p.m., Friday, May 2, 2014, at Lewisburg United Methodist Church in Lewisburg, Rev Rick Brown officiating. Interment will follow, with full military rites at Greenbrier Memorial Gardens.
