SEWELL MOUNTAIN — Frank Kenney, 70, of Sewell Mountain, passed away Friday, April 18, 2014, in the Greenbrier Valley Medical Center at Fairlea, following a sudden illness.
Born August 26, 1943, on Sewell Mountain, he was the son of the late Earl and Lottie Gilkeson Kenney.
Frank worked in the lumber yards until his retirement. He loved the outdoors and reading. He worshipped at the Big Sewell Baptist Church on Sewell Mountain.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a grandson, Aaron Eugene Kenney.
Survivors include his wife of 43 years, Patricia Minear Kenney; 2 sons Daniel Wayne Kenney (Cheryl) of Akron, OH, and Timothy Allen Kenney (Amber) of Mesa, AZ; 3 sisters Joann Gilkeson of Rainelle, Zulema Hudson (Gary) of Virginia and Lois Minear of Sewell Mountain; 10 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 23, at Smathers Funeral Chapel, Inc., with Pastor Kermit Hunter, Jr., officiating. Burial will follow in the Sims Cemetery on Loops Road.
Friends may call one hour before the service from 10 to 11 a.m. at the funeral home.

WHITE SULPHUR SPRINGS — Norma “Skippy” Jean Lucas, 79, of White Sulphur Springs, formerly of Sweet Chalybeate, Va., died Sunday morning, April 20, 2014.
Her funeral service will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 23, in the chapel of Shanklin Funeral Home with the Rev. Kenny Baker officiating. Interment will follow in the Sweet Chalybeate Cemetery in Sweet Chalybeate, Va. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday April 22, at the funeral home.

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — Robert Newton Meadows, 84, of Knoxville, Tenn., formerly of Willowton, W.Va., passed away Sunday, April 20, 2014.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 23, at the Willowton Christian Church, Willowton, with Mike Robertson, minister of the church, and the Rev. Aubrey Whitlow officiating. Burial will follow at the Sunrise Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Rich Creek, Va. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, April 22, at the Broyles-Shrewsbury Funeral Home in Peterstown and one hour prior to the service at the church.
