WASHINGTON, D.C. — Mrs. Charlene (Poindexter) Agee, 61, of Washington, formerly of Beckley, passed away Sunday, April 14, 2013.
Services will be noon Saturday, April 20, 2013, visitation will be from 10 a.m. until service time at noon, at Park Road Community Church, 1019 Park Road, N.W., Washington.

Mae Bradley Allen
RICH CREEK, Va. — Mae Bradley Allen, 83, of Rich Creek, passed away Sunday, April 14, 2013.
Services will be 1 p.m. Friday, April 19, 2013, at the Broyles-Shrewsbury Funeral Home Chapel, Peterstown, with Pastor Doug Hyndrich and Rev. Aubrey Whitlow officiating. Burial will follow in the Sunrise Memorial Gardens, Rich Creek, Va.
Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, April 18, 2013, at the funeral home.

Donnie J. Barker
On Tuesday, April 16th, 2013, our most cherished, Donnie Joe Barker passed away at the Veterans Area Medical Center in Beckley following a long illness. He was in his 75th year.
A former resident of Eccles, Donnie made his home in Beckley at the Wildwood House in later years. The third of eight children, Donnie was born on May 15th, 1937 at Eccles. His parents were the late Joe Frank and Ina Lewis Barker. His sisters, Jewell Hales and Nettalene Wilson have preceded him in death, as well his brother-in-laws, Edgar Hales, Terry Cole and Mick Wilson.
Donnie’s early years were spent in Eccles and Chicago. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. Donnie had worked for Beckley Coal and Bob Canterbury’s scrap yard.
He leaves to cherish his memory his sons, Donnie Jr. of Tuscaloosa, AL, Jimmy Barker of Mt. Pleasant, TX, and Thomas Barker of Winfield, TX . The mother of his children, Sandra Kral Barker died in 2010. There are four grandchildren.
Donnie was the dear brother of John Barker and his wife, Marie of Glen Daniel, Glenna Cole of Eccles, Murvin Barker and his wife, Peggy of Eccles, Vicky Cornett and her husband, Gilles of Beckley, Charles “Pete” Barker and his wife, Dorothy of Eccles and Jacqueline Arthur and her husband, David of Eccles. Several nieces and nephews also survive as well as his special caregiver, Shirley Murdock.
On Friday, April 19th, at 3 p.m. we will remember the life Donnie Joe Barker with a “Service of Remembrance” at the Melton Mortuary Chapel. Rev. Carl Sellards will be officiating. Donnie will be laid to rest in the Calfee Cemetery at Mt. Tabor. The family will receive friends from 2 p.m. until the service hour.
Family members and friends will serve as pallbearers.
