Patsey Ellen Aliff

Patsey Ellen Aliff, age 79, of Beckley, WV, passed away at the Raleigh Center at Daniels, WV, on Monday, July 2, 2012.

Born on January 19, 1933, in Beckley, she was the daughter of the late Troy William Blankenship and Grace Ellen Bolen Blankenship Meadows, and was the stepdaughter of the late Clifford Meadows.

Mrs. Aliff was a homemaker, a member of the Crossroads Apostolic Church. She had made her home in Beckley all of her life.

Mrs. Aliff was preceded in death by her husband, Wilby Washington Aliff Jr., a son Wilby Daniel Aliff I, and  a brother David Meadows.

Those survivors left to cherish her memory include her children: Troy William Aliff of Reidsville, NC; Clifford James “Jim” Aliff and his wife Debby of Beckley; Debby Blackburn-Dunkley and her husband Buddy of Lanark, WV.

A sister-in-law, Rita Meadows Buckner of Michigan.

6 grandchildren: Telena Bennett of Lewisburg, Danny Aliff of Beckley, Mikey Blackburn and his girlfriend Mandy Thomas of Beckley, Nick Blackburn and his girlfriend Sydni Bibb of Beckley, Christie Williams and her husband Stephen of Lanark, Buddy Dunkley Jr. and his wife Kristy of Lanark. A daughter-in-law, Vickie Aliff of Beckley, and many nieces and nephews.

5 great-grandchildren, Hayden, Keegan, Thomas, Stacie, and Stephenie.

Funeral services will be conducted to Celebrate The Life Of Patsey Aliff on Friday, July 6, 2012, at 11 a.m. at the Rose and Quesenberry Peace Chapel in Beckley with Rev. Jimmy Miller officiating. Burial will follow at the Greenbrier Burial Park in Hinton, WV. Friends may call at the funeral home from 6 to 9 p.m. on Thursday. Pallbearers will be family members and friends. Robert C. Bare

Robert C. Bare, age 79, of Pluto Road, Shady Spring, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, July 2, 2012, at the Beckley VA Medical Center, following a long illness.

Born on August 10, 1932, in Wyoming County, he was the son of the late Albert M. Bare and Matilda Bower Bare.

Mr. Bare was a retired heavy equipment operator of Pittston Coal Company. He was a U.S. Air Force Veteran of the Korean Conflict. Mr. Bare was a member of the Bible Baptist Church at MacArthur, and was a member of the American Legion Post #32 in Beckley. He was a graduate of Mullens High School, where he was the co-captain of the High School Football Team. Mr. Bare also attended Concord College where he also played on the College Football Team.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Charles, Joe, and Larry Bare, and a sister, Enfield Placido.

Those survivors left to cherish his memory include his wife of 55 years, Patricia Ann Morgan Bare; his children, Robert C. Bare II and his wife Cindy of Decatur, Ala., John A. Bare and his wife Donna of Hartselle, Ala., and Carol Ann Tate and her husband Keith of Shady Spring; a sister, Florence Tolliver and her husband Shelby of Beaver; 11 grandchildren, and 19 great-grandchildren are also among his survivors.

Funeral services will be conducted at the Bible Baptist Church at MacArthur, on Friday,  July 6, 2012, at 2 p.m., with Pastor Thomas Shepherd and Pastor Wayne Holder officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Park in Beckley.

Friends may call at the Rose and Quesenberry Funeral Home Shady Spring Chapel on Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m., and also one hour prior to the services on Friday at the church.

Pallbearers will be his sons and grandsons, Robert C. Bare II, John A. Bare, Matthew L. Bare, Robert D. Bare, David M. Quesenberry, John W. Nicholas, and Jonathan Bare.

Military graveside rites will be conducted by the American Legion Post #32 Honor Guard.
