FOSTERVILLE — Burl Ross of Fosterville, WV, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, November 2, 2012.
Burl was born December 31, 1917, in Newlon, WV, the youngest of the 14 children of William Francis Ross and Mary Louise Martin Ross, all deceased. He was married for 54 years to Ruth May Sheets Ross, also deceased.
Burl was a veteran of the U.S. Army in WWII and served in the Air National Guard and Naval Air Reserve and was graduated valedictorian of Piedmont School of Aeronautics in 1970. He was the Store Manager of Standard Supply Company Store in Montcoal, WV, for over 30 years. He was a member of the Sylvester Baptist Church, Sylvester, WV.
Burl is survived by his only child Paula Maxson (Stephen) of Fosterville, WV; grandchildren Julie and Dina Sharps, Angie Russell, Thumper Maxson, Dawn Mayle; great-grandchildren Melia, Samuel, Maureen, BJ, Samantha and great-great-grandchild Savannah. He was blessed with extended family and the support of Thea Bowling, Tina Flint, Barb Michael, Dwight Bowne family, Leslie Davis, Brenda Buzzard, and hospice staff members Sallie, Rhonda, and Libby.
Funeral services will be held Monday afternoon, November 5, 2012, at 1 o’clock in the Sylvester Baptist Church, Sylvester, WV, with Pastor David Minturn. A Graveside service will follow Tuesday morning at 11 in the Simpson Cemetery at Simpson, WV.
A visitation will be 2 hours before the service at the church.

Junia M. Wygal
CANVAS — Junia M. “June” Wygal, 87, of Canvas, WV, went home to be with her Sweet Jesus on Thursday, November 1, 2012. Born November 19, 1924, at Talcott, she was a daughter of the late William Stires and Cleo Garten Sherwood. She was also preceded in death by all of her siblings, four sisters and three brothers.
She was a member of the Jordan Chapel United Methodist Church at Canvas, was a former Sunday school teacher, and was a homemaker and excellent cook.
Survivors include her beloved husband of sixty-five years, Ernest Wygal; children, Sandra and Russell Taylor of Greenville, SC, Milton and Bobbie Wygal of Mt. Lookout, and Carol and Kevin Wine of Canvas; five grandchildren, Stephen and Michele Taylor, John and Dusty Taylor, Betsy and Tyler Atkins, Caleb and Tasha Wygal, and Noah Wygal; and four great-grandchildren, Benjamin Taylor, Matthew Taylor, Saige Taylor, and Bella Wygal.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, November 5, 2012, in the Jordan Chapel United Methodist Church at Canvas with Pastor Paul Mateer officiating. Interment will follow in the Walker Memorial Park at Summersville.
Friends may call at the church on Monday one hour prior to the funeral services.
