Amos Lee Lockhart

PANTHER — Amos Lee Lockhart, 69, of Panther, passed away Monday, Oct. 29, 2012.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Monday, Nov. 5, at the Panther Missionary Baptist Church with Brother Darrell Blankenship officiating. He will be laid to rest in Lockhart Cemetery, Panther. Friends may gather with the family after 6 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 4, at the church.

Loretta Gregory Maynor

Loretta Gregory Maynor, age 83, of Shady Spring, passed away at the Raleigh General Hospital in Beckley on Thursday, November 1, 2012, following a long illness.

Born on November 14, 1928, in Beckley, she was the daughter of the late Clyde Gregory and Alma Treadway Gregory.

Loretta was retired from the Southern Soil Conservation District with over 30 years of service. One of her greatest joys was being involved in the Perry Memorial United Methodist Church. Favorite activities included teaching Sunday School, making eggs with the “Perry Egg Factory,” and serving with friends on many other projects. She had been a member of PMUMC since 1963.

Loretta was a cherished, loving, and clever mother of three daughters. She treasured her friendships and loved conversation and get-togethers with old and new friends. She was also a masterful cook, an avid golfer, and loved to travel.

Those survivors left to cherish her memory include her husband of 62 years, Marvin “Tom” Maynor; three daughters, Sherry Maynor of Beaver, Sheila Maynor of Clearwater, Florida, and Cindee Arnold and her husband Bob of Beckley. Her sister, Jewel Cossu of Asheboro, North Carolina, preceded her in death.

Funeral services will be conducted to Celebrate The Life Of Loretta Maynor on Monday, November 5, 2012, at 1 p.m., at the Rose and Quesenberry Funeral Home Shady Spring Chapel with Pastor Scott Mayberry officiating.

Burial will follow at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens at Prosperity, WV. Friends may call at the funeral home from 11 a.m. until service time on Monday.

Pallbearers will be family members and friends.
