Joseph Edward Cox Sr.

Mr. Joseph Edward Cox Sr., 70, of Beckley, died Saturday, May 31, 2014.

Born May 19, 1944, in Tams, W.Va., he was the son of the late Nelson Cox and Gladys Hurt.

Mr. Cox was a graduate of Byrd Prillerman High School, retired bus driver for Raleigh County Commission on Aging and a member of Heart of God Ministries.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Joseph Cox Jr.; infant son, Steve Cox; and his wife, Paulette Cox.

Those left to cherish precious memories are his children, Phillip Smith, Frederick South, Dionco South, Shane Cox, Johnny Ray, Jeremy Smith, Alisha Johnson, Lavinia Johnson, Antwonia Bullock, Shanetta Bullock, Nikki, and Drema Carson; step-children, Damien Tunstalle, Shakela Tunstalle, Courtney Davis, and Shenna Davis; brothers, James (Millie) Cox and Howard (Jessie) Cox; sisters, Virgie Jackson, Mary Wiltz, and Barbara Mizell; special friend, Charlene Davis; special nephew, Kenny Cox Sr.; and host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Funeral services will be noon on Friday, June 6, 2014 at Heart of God Ministries, 1703 South Kanawha St., Beckley, with Bishop Fred T. Simms officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Memorial Park, Beckley.

Friends may call one hour prior to the service at the church.

OAK HILL — Linda Cummings, 72, of Oak Hill, passed away on Saturday, May 31, 2014.

High Lawn Funeral Chapel, Oak Hill, is in charge of arrangements.

PENCE SPRINGS — Daniel Curfman, 29, of Pence Springs, passed away Sunday, June 1, 2014.

A gathering of family and friends will be Friday, June 6, 2014 at Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors Chapel from 6 to 8 p.m. Following the visitation at Daniel’s request his body will be cremated.
