CHRISTIANSBURG, Va. — Mrs. Hazel Irene Branche, age 94, of Christiansburg, Va., and formerly of Stuart, Va., passed away Friday, October 14, 2011, at the Wheatland Retirement Community Home in Christiansburg. She was born in Raleigh County, West Virginia, on March 30, 1917, to the late John Abe Martin and Maggie Mae Newman Martin. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Branche was preceded in death by her husband, William Ernest Branche, and several brothers and sisters. She was a member of Glenwood Primitive Baptist Church in Glenwood, West Virginia.
Mrs. Branche is survived by two sisters, Dorothy Leber of Ohio, Retice Trump of West Virginia; one sister-in-law, Shirley Branche and her husband, Bernice, of Alabama; and a special roommate, Ruth Harrah of Wheatland Retirement Community Home.
A visitation will be held Monday evening from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Moody Funeral Home in Stuart. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Glenwood Primitive Baptist Church in Glenwood, West Virginia, with Elder Larry Hollandsworth officiating. TIOGA — James Woodrow DeBoard, 64, of Tioga, died Saturday morning, Oct. 15, 2011.
Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Monday, Oct. 17, in West Virginia Memorial Gardens at Calvin.

Gary Stephen Owens Sr.
Gary Stephen Owens, Sr., 61, went to be with his Savior on October 13, 2011, following a short illness. Born April 21, 1950, in Lake City, South Carolina, he lived most of his life in Florida. Gary served in the U.S. Navy, and he spent 36 years employed with Seaboard Coast Line and CSX Railroad. His most recent years he was Crew Dispatcher in Jacksonville, FL.
Gary was preceded in death by his father, Baitie Tillman Owens, his mother, Josie Evangeline Howard Owens, and a stepson, Chadwick Nott.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 18 years, Deborah Kay Owens; brothers, Stacy Owens of Moore, Oklahoma, and Linwood Owens, and his wife, Patricia, of Patterson, Georgia; sister, Gail Owens of Patterson, GA; daughter, Christy Rouse, and her husband, William, of Waycross, GA; son, Gary Stephen Owens, Jr., of Waycross, GA; daughter, Heather Morford, and her husband, Shawn, of Hamilton, GA; extended family Donnie and Carolyn Harvey of Fincastle, VA; grandchildren, Paige, Josh and Christopher Rouse of Waycross, GA; Alex, Brandon and Andrew Morford of Hamilton, GA; Gary Stephen Owens, III, of Oceanway, FL; Brayden Owens of El Paso, TX; Aspen, Avory and Kole Harvey of Fincastle, VA; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held at Pivont Funeral Home in Hinton, West Virginia, on Tuesday, Oct. 18th, at 1 p.m., with a viewing one hour prior. The Reverend Sam Groves and the Reverend Mike McCoy will be officiating. Burial will follow at Elk Knob Church Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Chet Edwards, William Rouse, Andrew Morford, David Leftridge, Sonny Edwards and Gary Owens, Jr.
