Ellen Mae Miller Lawson
OAK HILL — Ellen Mae Miller Lawson, age 97, of Oak Hill, WV, passed away on Friday, September 27, 2013, at her residence.
Born August 11, 1916, at Fayetteville, WV, she was the daughter of the late William Franklin and Nancy Jane Bell Miller.
Ellen was a homemaker, creating a loving home for her family.
Surviving are her daughter, Mary Lawson McCurdy of Fayetteville, WV, her granddaughter, Olivia Mae DeLung and husband Travis James DeLung, and her great-grandchildren, Jaidyn Faith DeLung and James Oliver DeLung, all of Fayetteville, WV. Also surviving her brother, Lyle Miller and his wife Lily of Fayetteville, WV.
Mrs. Lawson’s wishes was no services. A private family entombment will be held at her final resting place at High Lawn Memorial Park Mausoleum, Oak Hill, WV.
In lieu of flowers any memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Southern WV, P.O. Box 1472, Beckley, WV 25802, or to Bowers Hospice House, 454 Cranberry Drive, Beckley, WV 25801.

LEWISBURG — Lloyd S. Quick, 92, of Lewisburg died Sept. 26, 2013.
Graveside services and burial will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 2, at Greenbrier Memorial Gardens in Lewisburg. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 1, at Morgan Funeral Home in Lewisburg.
Kennith W. Rose
Kennith W. Rose, 61, of Amigo went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, September 25, 2013.
Born December 22, 1951, he was the son of Woodrow Wilson Rose and the late Geraldine McKinney Rose.
Kennith loved hunting, fishing, and spending time with his grandchildren and beloved dog Dingo. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge #151 of Mullens, WV, and a member of the Order of the Eastern Star where he was the Worthy Grand Patron in 2006.
He worked 23 years as a coal miner including for the E and A Coal Company at Whitby, WV. Kennith was of the Catholic faith.
In addition to his mother, Kennith is preceded in death by his sister, Drema Gail (Rose) Archambeault; mother-in-law, Cora Cumby; and special uncle, Jay McKinney.
Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife of 44 years, Betty (Cumby) Rose of Amigo; daughter, Connie Lynn (Rose) Stickler of Mullens; grandchildren, Dylan and Kendra Stickler of Mullens; and his beloved pet Dingo; two sisters, Brenda Davis and husband Travis of Mullens, Mona Lisa (Rose) Goode and husband Tommy of Florida; 4 brothers, Billy Rose and wife Ann of Princeton, Tommy Rose and wife Sue of Herndon Heights, Ronald Dickens of Beckley and Jerry Wayne Dickens and wife Anna of Mullens; special uncle, Jess (Jaybird) Maynard of Alpoca; father-in-law, Robert Andrew Cumby of Amigo; sisters-in-law, Sandy Shrewsbury and companion, Arnold Linkous, of Mt. Hope, Linda Wrenn of Amigo, Janet Kiblinger and husband Marty of MacArthur; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
The family would like to thank the NSICU unit at CAMC General for their outstanding care of Kennith and his family. A special thanks to Sister Frann for her spiritual guidance.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, October 1, 2013, at Blue Ridge Funeral Home, Beckley, with Pastor Gary Eskins officiating. Burial will follow at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens with the Masonic Lodge performing graveside rites.
Friends may gather with the family Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. The Order of The Eastern Star will conduct a service at 7 p.m.
