MOUNT NEBO — Sandra Mae Dodrill, 63, of Mount Nebo, died Friday, Dec. 7, 2012.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 11, at the Rose and Quesenberry Shady Spring Chapel in Shady Spring. Interment will follow at Mt. View Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Monday at the funeral chapel in Shady Spring.

SUMMERSVILLE — Rebecca Clarissa Garrett, 96, of Summersville died Thursday, Dec. 6, 2012.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 11, with Brother Lee Holliday officiating. Burial will follow in the Walker Memorial Park at Summersville. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral chapel.
Don Keith Gilkeson
WEBSTER SPRINGS — Don Keith Gilkeson, 81, of Webster Springs, passed away on Thursday, December 6, 2012, at Webster County Memorial Hospital.
He was born February 2, 1931, in Ansted to the late Lacy E. and Hallie Kirk Gilkeson.
He graduated from Ansted High School in 1948. Among the jobs he held early in life were those of driver for Elite Dry Cleaners, tipple worker at Nuttallburg, a telegraph operator, and freight agent for the C & O Railroad. In 1958 he became a Conservation Officer for the then Conservation Commission of West Virginia, serving in Webster County. He held the position of Reclamation Inspector for the Department of Natural Resources from 1968 until his retirement in 1996. He was a member of Elk Valley Soil Conservation District and was voted Farmer of the Year in the 1970s. He loved raising gardens, raising cattle, putting up hay on the family farm, and weaving reed chair seats. He was a member of the Bergoo Baptist Church, where he served in several positions through the years.
Don was preceded in death in October 2009 by his wife of 60 years, Doris G. Barker Gilkeson. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Mary Haynes; brothers John and Gene Gilkeson, and an infant grandson Skye Star McCoy.
Surviving are his four children: Donna (Bradley) McCoy of Ravenswood, Debbie Minnich of Webster Springs, David (Glenda) Gilkeson of Webster Springs, and Dale Kirk (Alesia) Gilkeson of Cowen; 9 grandchildren; and 7 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother Gary (Tommie) Gilkeson of Charleston; sisters-in-law Eva Gilkeson of Ansted and Judy Gilkeson of Elyria, OH; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends may join the family for visitation on Saturday, December 8, 2012, from 6 to 9 p.m. at Dodd & Reed Funeral Home.
Funeral Services will be held on Sunday at 2 p.m. at the Bergoo Baptist Church with Rev. Bennie Cowger officiating. In keeping with his wishes, the body will be cremated and his ashes will be buried at Restlawn Memorial Gardens in Victor at a later date.

SOUTH CHARLESTON — Maxine Richmond Hamilton, 83, of South Charleston passed away Sunday, Dec. 2, 2012.

Stella Marie Lively
FAYETTEVILLE — Stella Marie Lively, age 94, formerly of Dry Hill, passed away on Friday, December 7, 2012, at the Fayette Nursing and Rehab Center in Fayetteville, WV, after a long illness. She had previously lived at the Villages of Greystone in Beaver, WV, from 2009 until 2012.
Born on October 1, 1918, in Owensboro, Kentucky, she was the daughter of the late James and Annie Woods Evans.
She moved with her parents to WV when she was 6 years old, living first in Lochgelly, WV, then later in Cranberry. She met the love of her life and married Eugene Lively on December 24, 1936. They were together for 67 years before he passed away in 2003.
Stella was a homemaker and enjoyed cooking, making quilts, going to church services and spending time with her family whom she loved, and they loved her.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Alvey, Leroy, and Estil Evans. By three sisters, Virginia Morris, Ethelyn Crisp, and Opal Baker. Also her son-in-law, Fred Arthur.
Those left to cherish her memory include two daughters, Betty Arthur of Prosperity, and Alice Cox and her husband Paul of Medina, Ohio. Four grandchildren, Steve Arthur and his wife Tammie of Beckley, Greg Arthur and his wife Sherrie of Charlotte, NC, Keith Cox of Medina, Ohio, and Lori Aveni and her husband Cox of Apex, NC. Six Great-grandchildren, Jake and Gigi Cox of Medina, Ohio, Patrick and Michael Aveni of Apex, NC, and John and Mark Arthur of Charlotte, NC. Two sisters, Hazel Bossert of Barberton, Ohio, and Sadie Watson of Akron, Ohio.
The family wishes to thank all of the staff at the Fayette Nursing and Rehab for the wonderful care given to Mrs. Lively during her stay at the facility.
Funeral services will be conducted to Celebrate The Life Of Stella Marie Lively on Monday, December 10, 2012, at 1 p.m. at the Rose and Quesenberry Peace Chapel, Beckley, with Rev. Fred Lovell officiating. Burial will follow at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens at Prosperity, WV.
Friends may call at the funeral home two hours prior to the services.

Claudeo Frederick Mays
Claudeo Frederick Mays was born Aug. 25, 1960, and died Dec. 5, 2012.
He was preceded in death by his father Claudie Frederick Mays, stepfather John Craddock.
He is survived by his daughter Beckley Mays and his son Tyler Mays, mother Betty Craddock, brother David and Melissa Mays, sister Naoma and Ricky Franks, sister Johnetta and Doug Howell, nephews John Randall Craddock, Wyatt Howell, and niece Davida Mays.
Fred was a 1978 graduate of Mt. Hope High School, a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, a senior at Mountain State University, a resident advisor, an officer in the Student Government Association, an organizer for Beckley Unplugged, and an avid musician.
A memorial service will be held Monday, Dec. 10th, at 7 p.m. at the John W Eye Building on the Mountain State University Campus. He will be sadly missed by his family and many friends.

Nancy Hodge Stover McClellan
CLEAR FORK — On December 6, 2012, surrounded by her loving family and friends, Nancy McClellan from Clear Fork, WV, went home to be with the Lord after a long illness.
Nancy was a founding and lifetime member of the Sycamore Free Pentecostal Church, and she was the alto singer for The Pentecostals for thirty-four years. Nancy was a faithful worker for Jesus through her songs, her testimonies and especially her love.
She is preceded in death by her late husband, Leon Stover; her parents, James and Almeada Hodge; and siblings, Billy Hodge and Phyllis Conkle.
Nancy is survived by her loving husband, Cecil McClellan; her children, Rocky and Angel Stover, Ricky Stover, Pam and Jim Pandelios, Sherry and Bill Goins, Lisa and Duke Stewart, Beth and Rick Beverlin, Josh and Samantha Stover, Susie and Butch Fitzwater, Teresa and Rocky Farley, Cecil Jr. and Kathy McClellan, Sam and Angie McClellan, and Betty and Jeff Shea; siblings, Doris Persinger, Troy and Judy Hodge; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and many loving friends. The family would like to send a special thank you to Chasity and George Kennedy.
It was Nancy’s wish to have a graveside service which will be held on Monday, December 10, 2012, at 12 in the Estep Cemetery in Ameagle with Rev. Jerry Tyree and Rev. Jeff Shea officiating. A Celebration of her life will be held on Sunday, December 16, 2012, at 7 p.m. at the Sycamore Free Pentecostal Church. All friends of the family are welcome to attend.

LAS VEGAS, Nev. — On Wednesday, Nov. 28th, 2012, our most cherished Stephen D. Mitchem of Las Vegas, Nevada, formerly of the Sweeneysburg community, passed away following a long illness. He was 65 years of age.
One of three children, Stephen Dewight Mitchem was born on Dec. 26th, 1946. He was the beloved son of Betty Blankenbeckler Mitchem of Sweeneysburg and the late Edgar Mitchem.
In addition to his mother, those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife, Kay, and their five children, Leo, Tony, Matthew, Caleb, and Angie; he was the dear brother of Billy Mitchem and his wife, Marilyn, and Linda Powers and her husband, Donald.
Stephen’s services were held in Las Vegas.
