Edith Arnice Graham
GHENT — Edith Arnice Graham, age 91, of Ghent, passed away on Wednesday, December 5, 2012, at the Summers County ARH in Hinton, following a short illness.
Born on October 12, 1921, in Crumpler, she was the daughter of the late Elige Reed and Allie Monk Reed.
Mrs. Graham was a homemaker and was of the Baptist faith. She had made her home in Ghent for over 30 years, and enjoyed fishing, gardening, and spending time with her family.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lacy M. Graham, a daughter Patricia Richmond, a son Jack Graham, by a granddaughter Edith Marie Graham, and by a grandson Grant Randall Graham.
Those survivors left to cherish her memory include her children: Lacy T. Graham and his wife Naomi of Flat Top, George Graham and his wife Ellen of Sophia, Brenda Hogan and her husband Ted of Crow, Sandra Bjork and her husband Steve of Flat Top. A daughter-in-law, Wilma Graham of Ghent, a son-in-law, William Richmond Jr. of Shady Spring. Nine grandchildren: Kindra Watson and her husband Jeff of Alberta, Canada, Thomas Graham and his wife Marina of Cherokee, N.C., Pamela Bragg and her husband Jimmy of Shady Spring, Ray Richmond and his wife Holly of Virginia, Kevin Moerke and his wife Sara of South Carolina, Bryan Bjork and his wife Chrystal of Crab Orchard, Tony Selden and his wife Lisa of Chesapeake Beach, Md., Patrick Sgro and his wife Mandy of Maryland, Edward Graham and his wife Melissa of Ghent; 20 great-grandchildren, Alex Barnes, Kaitlin Barnes, Josh Graham, Noah Graham, Morgan Hunley, Makayla Bragg, Austin Bragg, Joey Hicks, Timmy Richmond, Tiffany Moerke, Stephen Bjork, Haley Bjork, Caitlin Selden, Jaclyn Selden, Alec Sgro, Brittany Sgro, Victoria Sgro, David Graham, Tyler Graham, Justin Graham, Ashli Moerke, and Dillon Moerke. A half sister, Pansy Tate of North Carolina, and two half brothers, Junior and Ray Reed of Matoaka. Close friends Peggy Moran of Ghent, Al and Susie Strassburger of Egeria.
Funeral services will be conducted to Celebrate The Life Of Edith Graham on Saturday, December 8, 2012, at 1 p.m. at the Rose and Quesenberry Peace Chapel in Beckley, with Rev. Jimmy Mitchell officiating. Burial will follow at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens at Prosperity.
Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday from 6 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
