Ginger Cantley

On Monday, Dec. 3rd, 2012, our most cherished, Ginger Cantley, of the Ridge Park Drive community, died at her home. She was approaching her 35th birthday.

The youngest of two girls, Mary Ginger Persinger was born on Dec. 9th, 1977, in Charleston. Ginger was the daughter of Vivian Ann Tackett Persinger McIntosh and the late James Edward Persinger. Ginger’s sister, Misty Lynn Acree, has preceded her in death.

Ginger spent her childhood in Summersville. She loved the out of doors, enjoyed rock ’n’ roll music and tattoos. She loved life.

On July 8th, 2002, Ginger married the love of her life, James Darrell Cantley. Through all times, the good, the bad, the happy, the sad, James and Ginger have stuck together. To this union was born their only child, Sydnee Paige. Sydnee is seven years of age and attends Hollywood Elementary School. Sydnee has such wonderful memories of her Mother; one of the best is going to the water park. Ginger’s mother-in-law, Betty, recalls, “Ginger was the best mother.” Through all of life’s struggles, Ginger made sure she was there for Sydnee.

Ginger also leaves to cherish her memory her maternal grandmother, Peggy Tackett. “Ma-Maw” always called her Ginger, “Ginger Bread.” Ginger was very fond of James’ maternal grandmother, Mabel Tungett, who has preceded her in death. James’ parents survive as well, his father, Darrell Cantley, and his mother, Betty Gogle, and her husband, Dennis. Several aunts, uncles and cousins are left behind and many friends.

This Saturday, Dec. 8th, at 3 p.m. we will remember the life of Ginger with a “Service of Remembrance” at the Melton Mortuary Chapel. Adam Davis, the minister of the North Beckley Church of Christ, will be officiating. The family will receive friends from 2 p.m. until the service hour. Ginger will be laid to rest in the Sunset Memorial Park.

And now, we shall put our trust in Philippians 4:7 “…And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding…”

Condolences may be sent to the family’s guestbook at www.meltonmortuary.com.

Arrangements by Melton Mortuary, Inc., Beckley.
