James Spencer, age 63, of Crab Orchard, passed away Tuesday, February 5, 2013, at Bowers Hospice House.

Mildred E. Turner
FT. PAYNE, Ala. — Mildred E. Turner, 92, of Ft. Payne, formerly of Harper Heights, died Wednesday, January 30, 2013.
Born June 15, 1920, in Stotesbury, she was the second oldest of five children born to the late John Henry and Malia Smith-Kent.
Mildred professed Christ at an early age and became a member of First Baptist Church of Stotesbury, later joining Shiloh Baptist Church in Harper Heights, First Baptist Church of Harper Heights, and Faith in Christ Church, Ft. Payne. She was also a member of the Winding Gulf Baptist Music Convention, where she was a member of the choir and served in other capacities when called upon.
In addition to her parents and husband, Walter T. Turner Sr., she was preceded in death by two children; two brothers; one sister and her daughter-in-law, LaVenia B. Turner.
Left to cherish her memories are her daughter, Betty A. (Francis) Cooper of Washington, DC; son, Walter T. Turner Jr. of Ft. Payne; brother LTC (Retired Air Force) Gaylord S. (Dorothy) Kent of Clay, NY; six grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m., Wednesday, Feb. 6, 2013, at the Ritchie and Johnson Funeral Parlor Chapel, 748 S. Fayette St., Beckley. Burial will follow in Greenwood Memorial Park, Beckley.
Friends may call one hour prior to the service at the funeral parlor.

Ray Charles White
Ray Charles White, 61, of Beckley, formerly of Elkins, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, February 4, 2013.
Born July 28, 1951, at Elkins, to the late Woodrow Aaron White and Alberta May Tavis White.
Mr. White was an Artisan Woodworker, he volunteered at Greater Beckley Christian School and volunteered at the Autism Recovery Resource Center with his wife. He was a graduate of Elkins High School, a member of Faith Baptist Church, Prosperity, and had worked as a orthopedic surgical technician for over 20 years for Dr. David C. Shamblin.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter-in-law’s brother, Mark Kinder.
Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife of 23 years, Dr. Kelli White; daughters, Rachel May White and partner, Holly Kinder of Beckley; Shelby Nicole White of Beckley and Jordan Ray White of Beckley; grandchildren, DonoVan Brannen, Delainey Brannen, and DeVonte Kinder; brother, Roy White and wife, Delaine White of Elkins; only niece, Elizabeth Ray Ferguson and husband, Jason of Abingdon, Md.; aunt, Irene Bush of Alva, Okla.; uncle, Ronald White and wife, Margaret of Bemis, W.Va.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Bowers Hospice House and a special and dear friend, James E. Lowe.
Ray had chosen to donate his earthly remains to the Osteopathic School, to help his fellow man.
A memorial service to celebrate the life of Mr. Ray Charles White will be held 6 p.m. Thursday, February 7, 2013, at Faith Baptist Church, Prosperity, with Dr. Larry Halsey and Evangelist Dwight Bright officiating.
