Ernie May Tolliver Perry

PINEVILLE — Ernie May Tolliver Perry, 81, of Pineville, passed away Sunday, February 3, 2013, at the Bowers Hospice House following a long illness.

Born March 13, 1931, at Bud, WV, she was the daughter of the late Aaron Bishop and Augusta Trogdan Bishop.

Mrs. Perry was a member of the Pineville Church of God. She enjoyed playing bingo, cooking, crocheting, keeping her grandchildren and being with her family.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Ballard Tolliver; her second husband, Leroy Perry; two brothers, Aaron Bishop, Jr., and Paul Cox, and two sisters, Zelma White and Vida Bishop.

Survivors include her daughter Betty Blankenship and husband Larry of Pineville; a son, Bobby Tolliver and his wife, Francene, of Pineville; four grandchildren, Randy Blankenship, Lena Lester, Amanda Bliss Perry and Rachel Beth Lange; 5 great-grandchildren, Randy Blankenship, Brooke, Eli and Gage Lester and Alexandria Claire Perry.

4 sisters: Arlene Walls of Bud; Carol Ward, Drema Bishop and Ruby Lilly all of Beckley.

A celebration of Ernie’s life will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, February 6, 2013, in the Calfee Funeral Service Chapel with the Rev. Melissa White officiating. The family will receive friends from noon until time of the service.

Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.

Burial will follow at Palm Memorial Gardens, Matheny, WV.

Clarence ‘Cotton’ Reed

Clarence “Cotton” Reed, 86, formerly of Helen, died February 4, 2013 at the Bowers Hospice House, in Beckley, following a short illness.

Brenda Sue Watkins Richmond

Brenda Sue “Watkins” Richmond, 61, of Shady Spring, passed away Tuesday, February 5, 2013.

Born October 17, 1951, in Oak Hill, she was the daughter of Juanita Meador Slutterink of Beckley and the late Robert E. Lee Watkins.

Brenda was a former restaurant manager and server. She played Buffet the Clown and loved bringing joy to all kids. Brenda served her country serving with the U.S. Navy.

In addition to her father she was preceded in death by a twin sister, Linda Watkins.

Survivors include her husband, Dan Corbitt Richmond; son, Bryan Garringer and wife Sarah of Jacksonville, Fla.; daughter, Sandra Bolen and husband Jeffery of Shady Spring; grandchildren, Bryan Garringer Jr., Devin Garringer, Kaytlin Plumley, Dustin Bolen, Roberta Garringer, Stephanie Garringer, Brenden Bolen, Daniel Amick; brothers, Larry Watkins and wife Mindy, David Watkins; sister, Sandra Murray and husband Richard; two special nieces, Summer Reynolds and Stephanie Murray; special great nephew, Richard Walter Hill III as well as numerous other nieces and nephews.

In keeping with Brenda’s wishes she will be cremated. The family is planning a memorial service at a later date.
