Thomas ‘Tom’ Bragg

OAK HILL — Thomas Lee “Tom” Bragg, 76, of Oak Hill, while surrounded by Heavenly Angels and a loving family, drew his last breath on this earth at Bowers Hospice House at Beckley, and peacefully opened his eyes in Heaven to be with the Lord and family members who include his Mother and Father and two brothers.

Raised by Christian parents he was taught the Word of God on a daily basis and accepted Jesus Christ as his Savior.

Though he lives on in Heaven in a new body no longer riddled with pain he will always be remembered by all who knew him as a man of honesty and integrity and kindness. His eagerness to help those less fortunate or those in need were qualities we must all strive to achieve.

He was a graduate of Fayetteville High School. A U.S. Air Force Veteran and prior to his illness he was a heavy equipment mechanic for Pittston Coal Group at Bolt, W.Va.

Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife of over 50 years Shirley Marie (Patrick) Bragg; two sons Thomas David Bragg and his wife Rowena of Oak Hill and Kenneth E. Bragg and his wife Kathy of Fayetteville; sisters, Anna Marie Poore and her husband John of Beckley and Mary Elizabeth Burnside of Kincaid; three grandchildren Jason Adam Bragg and his wife Betty of Fayetteville, Kenneth Andrew Bragg of Fayetteville, and James Hendrix of Oak Hill; and two great-grandchildren Austin Tyree and Madison Tyree, both of Fayetteville.

His remains rest at High Lawn Funeral Home Chapel, 1435 E. Main Street, Oak Hill, where the funeral will be held 2 p.m. Saturday with Pastor Delmas Wolfe officiating and where the family will receive friends from 12 noon until time of the service. Entombment will follow in High Lawn Memorial Gardens Mausoleum, with military rites conducted by Oak Hill V.F.W. Post 3110.

Pallbearers will be Jason Bragg, Andrew Bragg, Austin Tyree, James Hendrix, and Timmy Bragg.

The family would like to express their thanks to the doctor, nurses and staff for the care and attention that Tom received while at the Bowers Hospice House.
