Charles William Halsey Sr. (9/12/1948 - 01/19/2013)
He passed away surrounded by family Saturday, Jan. 19, 2013, in Perris, Calif.
A graduate of Meadow Bridge High School class of 1968. He was employed for the last 38 years with R.W. Lyall & Co. An avid horseshoe player, he competed in the National Horseshoe Pitchers Association. He spent his free time gardening, woodworking and enjoyed playing card games. He attended the First Methodist Church of Santa Ana, Calif., and he served in the United States Marine Corps, honorably discharged in 1971.
At the time of his death he was married to Evelyn of Santa Ana. He is survived by brothers: Donnie Halsey, Meadow Bridge, W.Va., Russell Halsey, Barberton, Ohio, Bernie Halsey of Springdale, W.Va., and his sister Susie Wright, Gaitherburg, Md. His daughters: Zoan Mancenido (Edgar), Fontana, Calif., Sonia Bocanegra (Jesse), Murrieta, Calif., Naomi Halsey (Josue Martinez) and Katie Halsey-Salvador (Josef), Perris, Calif. His grandchildren: James Halsey, Joshua Bocanegra, Caleb Bocanegra, Theodore Mancenido and Danille Bocanegra.
He is predeceased by parents: Doc and Edna Halsey, wife of 28 years, Noemi Verduzco Halsey, and son Charles W. Halsey Jr.
Funeral services will be held at Oakdale Memorial Park & Mortuary, Glendora, Calif., at 10 a.m. on Sunday, January 27, 2013.

Carolyn Maude Heltzel
CHILHOWIE, Va. — Carolyn Maude Heltzel, 78, passed away Tuesday, January 22, 2013, at Valley Health Care Center, Chilhowie.
Carolyn was a devoted wife, loving mother and sister. She was a school teacher for over 35 years and touched the lives of many students.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, William “Bill” Heltzel, her mother and father Goldie and Charley Hicks.
Carolyn is survived by her son Charlie Heltzel and wife Sonji and granddaughter, Emily Terry of Abingdon, Va. Also survived by her sister Mary Lou Borrelli and husband Jerry, of Knoxville, Tenn.; brother Joel Hicks and wife Melinda of Radford, Va.
Carolyn is also survived by niece Amy Hicks; and nephews T.J. Hicks and Scott Borrelli.
The family wishes to extend thanks to the staff at Valley Heath Center, Chilhowie, Va., and the staff and caregivers and Grand Court, Bristol, Va.
Visitation will be held Friday, Jan. 25th, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Simons-Coleman Funeral Home, Richwood, W.Va. Funeral will be at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 26th, at Simons-Coleman, with Pastor Brant Seacrist officiating. Burial will be at Mountain View Memorial Park, Richwood, W.Va.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be sent to the Riverside Baptist Church, Richwood, W.Va., and the Richwood Volunteer Fire Department.
