Bernard William Spinks Sr.
GALENA, Ohio — Bernard William Spinks Sr., 86, of Galena, our dear father went to join his son, Barry, his, parents, Harry and Sallie Spinks, along with brothers, Harry and Basil Spinks.
He is the last survivor of his immediate family. We will miss his knowledge, kind heart, gentle spirit and compassion.
He is survived by devoted wife of 58 years, Imogene Campbell Spinks; two daughters, Star Spinks Webb (Larry) and Felicia Spinks; daughter-in-law, Shelly Spinks-Rowe; five grandchildren, Annie, Katie, Becky, Sammie, and Bernie; three great-grandchildren, Isaiah, Peyton, and Carter.
Bernard was a U.S. Army WW II veteran, who saw the devastation of the atomic bombing of Nagasaki on the southern tip of Japan.
In fulfillment of Bernard’s wishes, arrangements are private, except for graveside service at 2 p.m. in Chestnut Grove Cemetery, near Nallen on Saturday, August 17, 2013, with Pastor Dan Brown officiating.
