Dale Ray Preast
RAINELLE — Dale Ray Preast, 56, of Rainelle, passed away, Tuesday, September 10, 2013, following a long illness.
He was born October 17, 1956 at Gauley Bridge, W.Va., he was the son of Dencil Ray Preast and Audrey Mae Pullen.
Dale was a devoted, husband, father, grandfather, son and brother to his loving family, he loved his church and loved being the Pastor to his congregation at Virginia O’Dell Freewill Baptist Church. He loved being outdoors and doing everything for everyone, He was a warehouse manager for the coal industry and also a self employed service station owner.
Survivors include his loving wife of 38 years, Peggy Carol Sorrell Preast; a daughter, Heather Lynn Hundley of Hilton Village; a son Dale Ray Preast Jr. and wife Gloria of Salem, Va.; a sister, Debbie McVey and husband Richard of Mt. Hope: five grandchildren, Silas, Paul, Hannah, Cameron and Kenna.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m., Saturday, September 14, 2013, at Wallace and Wallace Funeral Home Chapel in Ansted. Interment will follow at Restlawn Memory Gardens, Victor.

RICHWOOD — Mary Matilda Stanley, 81, of Richwood, passed away Monday, September 9, 2013.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Friday, Sept. 13, 2013, at Simons-Coleman Funeral Home, Richwood, with Father Lukas Batmomolin officiating. Burial will follow in the Taylor Cemetery, Fenwick Mountain.
Friends may call 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 12, at the funeral home, where a Rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m.

Lonnie Lee ‘Bill’ Watkins
CHARLESTON — Lonnie Lee “Bill” Watkins, 82, of Charleston, W.Va., formerly of Dothan and Sugar Grove, W.Va., went home to be with the Lord on Monday, September 9, 2013 at Beckley VAMC.
Born July 3, 1931 he was the son of the late Ambrose and Bernice Toney Watkins.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Betty J. Flanagan Watkins; three brothers, Charles Watkins, Robert Watkins, and Joseph Watkins; one sister, Charlene Watkins.
Survivors include two daughters, Myra “Susan” Watkins of Charleston, W.Va. and Michelle Griffith and husband Jeff of Cool Ridge, W.Va.; two sons, James Watkins and wife Sandra of Shepherdstown, W.Va. and Michael Watkins and wife Linda of Kearneysville, W.Va.; one sister Ida Mae Williams of Scarbro, W.Va.; five grandchildren, Emily Lord Watkins-Kern of Cambridge, England, Noah Watkins of Frederick, Md., Trista Watkins of Maysville, W.Va., Ashley Watkins of Charleston, W.Va., and Nicole Griffith of Cool Ridge; five great-grandchildren, Elyssa Kimple Watkins, Peyton Longerbeam, Elyah Leslie, William Cook, and Lonnie Cook.
Mr. Watkins loved his family; he also enjoyed traveling, auto mechanics, and NASCAR and especially enjoyed a good laugh. Mr. Watkins was a US Army Master Sargent Retired, with 24 years of service to his country. Following his Military retirement Mr. Watkins worked the next 20 years at the Reagan National Airport. He was a member of the VFW and American Legion in Charles Town, W.Va., and he was of the Baptist faith.
Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Sunday, September 15, 2013 at Blue Ridge Funeral Home Chapel in Beckley, with Chaplin Mark Iobst, and Chaplin Paul Bricker officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Park, Beckley, where the American Legion Post 32 Honor Guard will have Military graveside rites.
Friends may gather with the family Saturday, September 14, 2013 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Marcus Boone, Robert Estepp, Paul Jarvi, Danny Howell, Nichole Hylton, Erik Reynolds, Matthew Gavin, Don Penn, Shaun Longerbeam, Noah Watkins, and Jason Cook will serve as pallbearers.
