Buck Hannan Coffee III

SILVER SPRING, Md. — Buck Hannan Coffee, III, 63, of Silver Spring, MD, formerly of Bud, died Saturday, September 22, 2012. Born July 30, 1949, at Bud, he was the son of Mary Helen Angle Sherman of Virginia and the late Buck H. Coffee, Jr.

He was a veteran of the United States Navy serving on the USS America during the Vietnam War.

Survivors include his wife, Christine Coffee; one daughter, Terra Coffee and husband Gabriel Lord of Leesburg, GA; three granddaughters, Billie Lord, Carmen Lord and Sydney Lord; two brothers, Jimmy Coffee and wife Sharon of Sophia and William “Wil” Coffee of Maryland; and several nieces.

Graveside services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, September 29, 2012, at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton with Pastor Randy West officiating. Military honors will be conducted by the U.S. Navy honor guard and the Mercer County Veterans Council. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.

Those attending the graveside service are asked to meet at the Bailey-Kirk Funeral Home in Princeton by 1:45 p.m. on Saturday. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial contributions be made to the Disabled American Veterans Program, P.O. Box 14301, Cincinnati, OH 45250-0301.

Charlotte Yvonne Berry Combs

JUMPING BRANCH — Charlotte Yvonne Berry Combs, 74, of Jumping Branch went home to be with Jesus, Wednesday, September 26, 2012, at the Raleigh Care Center following a short illness.

Born March 19, 1938, at Thurmond, she was a daughter of the late Harry A. Berry and Blanche E. Stone Berry Perkins.

She is preceded in death by one sister, Sandra Snodgraft.

Those left to cherish her memory include her husband of 57 years, Robert A. Combs at home; her children, Robert A. Combs Jr. and wife Leigh Ann, Constance Hodges and companion Terron Matthews and Eric M. Combs and wife Tammy all of Concord, N.C.; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren and one sister, Carol Ray and husband Charles of Roanoke, VA, also survive.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, September 29, 2012, at the Jumping Branch Tabernacle with Pastors Jim Combs, Ed Cook and Jim Puckett officiating. Burial will follow in the Lilly-Crews Cemetery at Nimitz. Friends may call at the Jumping Branch Tabernacle from 11 a.m. until time of services Saturday at the church. Grandchildren and nephews will serve as pallbearers.
