Earl was very devoted with his volunteering and his work with both the Fire Department and Rescue Squad. He was a good neighbor and a friend to all who knew him. His hobby was fishing and hunting. Survivors include his wife at home, Roxie Smith Casto, three daughters: Janice Deitz of Toledo, Ohio, Patty (Bugsy) Hobbs of White Sulphur Springs, and Becky (Greg) Walter of Roanoke, Va., and a sister: Lou Clements of White Sulphur Springs, and six grandchildren.

His memorial service will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, September 25, 2012, at the Emmanuel United Methodist Church, with Rev. Ken Peters officiating. A visitation and luncheon will follow at the church.

Expressions of sympathy may me made to the Emmanuel United Methodist Church and the White Sulphur Springs Rescue Squad.
